As a huge MG fan, I am very disappointed with this game. It had everything going for it, but the story fell short imo. The way the story was presented was not well thought out. It's confusing and all over the place. I feel like it's a chore just to watch cutscenes because you have to trigger them by doing something in the game such as a side op or something. The game would have been amazing if they would of found a way to bring open world and story together. The most disappointing part about this is that Kojima can't improve on this since this is his last mgs game. It just leaves a horrible taste In my mouth :(

Reviews don't actually hold up with this one. Such a let down but given high scores based on the brand name, Kojima and the kafuffle that went on with him and Konami.

If reviewers played the game for longer it would actually sink in once the repetitive missions sink in

It was a story which shouldn't have been told

For me the last MGS game was MGS4

Best gameplay I've played in the mgs series but least of my favorite story wise...all we can do is move on instead of looking back, sad to say.

Imo after what can arguably be one of the greatest game openers (think mass effect 2 was the last one), after that it just wasn't particular interesting to play..tbh that first mission after your all patched up was just unbelievably boring
