Why On Earth Did 'StarCraft II: Legacy Of The Void' Launch This Week?

Forbes: You might not know this, but the epic conclusion to one of the most popular game franchises of all time launched on Tuesday. But between Fallout 4, Rise of The Tomb Raider and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, the PC exclusive Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void has been getting less attention than it normally would. It’s just the nature of the beast: gamers are only going to buy so many games on any given day, and websites only have so many resources to give games extensive coverage. It’s not like Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void released to crickets, of course — it’s still Starcraft — but it was still a curious decision on Blizzard’s part.

The story is too old to be commented.

meh I didn't buy either game and they both sold a million copies first week

Star Craft has its own built in install base. They can release this game against any title and be just fine. The same way CoD is fine being released at this point. Some games dont have to worry about release date and this is one of them.

Thx cleft5 just about comment something simular Star craft indeed has millions of its own crowed many play just star craft much like some warcraft players.
So no not bad timeing plus you can pick up any game at anytime suits you.

so they saying gamers who prefer strategy games should wait a month or another week to play a game of their choice because of COD and fallout 4? games that are not even in the same genre? really? like 90% of starcraft players went out and bought cod instead of SC.

Bought both SC and Fallout 4 and have no problems balancing between the two also add COD and fifa to that

Nerdmaster1067d ago

I want to play both, but I refuse to pay the absurd price Bethesda is charging for Fallout 4 in Brazil. So I'll only buy Starcraft II for now. I can wait until Fallout 4 gets a price cut or a discount. Specially when talking about big WRPG games, they're almost always very buggy right after launch, so waiting a few months might be the best idea anyway.

2pacalypsenow1067d ago

Bethesda doesn't choose the price, its your countries import tax that makes it expensive, don't blame them for Brazil's corrupted government

Nerdmaster1066d ago

Brazilian government is guilty of a lot of things, but not in this case. Brazil still doesn't tax downloadable games.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate: 129,99 reais
Call of Duty Black Ops III: 159,90 reais
Grand Theft Auto V: 99,99 reais
Just Cause 3: 129,99
Witcher 3: 129,99

Fallout 4: 229,99

As you can see, no other game, be them new releases or not, charges this much money. It's all Bethesda's choice. So no, I won't support it.

Oh, and Starcraft II Legacy of the Void is only 99,90 reais.
