Mobile is a cancer and core gamers won't ever abandon handhelds in exchange for mobile so long as it remains this way. Of course, the next generation will probably be okay with the trash.

Did you not read the article that Dena (one of the major mobile publishers in asia) is changing its tune from pay to play to a more engaging game.

This is good news, no need for handhelds. As long as mobile gaming improves the better. If more game developers/publishers take DENAS approach (low monetization, gameplay, video game content first and monetization later the better)the better. Smartphones/tablets too powerful for consoles/handhelds to compete against

"No need for handhelds."

The only time there will be no need for handhelds is when a true spiritual successor to the N-Gage is released. Without physical controls and, to a lesser extent, physical media, there's no way mobile will ever surpass handhelds as a gaming platform. Objectively, handhelds are superior. That doesn't mean they'll always exist but they're clearly better.

Physical media for mobile that is so oudated. Mobile gaming will evolve, why everybody thinks that mobile gaming is going to stay the same. Afraid of change
