Leaked Fallout 4 PS4 Screenshots Show Landscapes, Characters, Pip-Boy and More

Fallout 4's release is just 10 days away, and of course screenshots are starting to leak.

DarkOcelet3472d ago

The lighting in the game is impressive. Just a couple more days!

Bansai3472d ago

That bubblehead sure is pointy... the landscape on 1 screen doesn't look too good :/

Here's hoping framerate will be solid.

nX3472d ago

Just a side note, the screenshots in the article are jpg's with compression. Here are some png's that look much better imo
http://www.neogaf.com/forum...

Of course it's not the best looking game of the year but I'm pretty sure that it will be one of the best games of this generation.

SolidStoner3472d ago (Edited 3472d ago )

It looks fantastic for a fallout game, I bet all fans will be pleased and cant wait to get it ASAP!!

those wastelands will blow minds! :D and the feeling will be S.P.E.C.I.A.L.!

Dynasty20213471d ago (Edited 3471d ago )

@Bansai

It's being said that the PS4 suffers from pretty frequent drops in FPS.

This is coming from a Spanish forum from a guy who leaked some screenshots that don't contain spoilers.

While I agree that the graphics are sub-par compared to other games such as Witcher 3 if the game is even half as good as the previous games I don't think I'd even notice a jaggy here and there or low-rez texture here and there either.

I'm playing this on PC but I doubt until the mods roll in that it will be a night/day difference in gfx quality between consoles and PC.

Also the art direction seems to be a bit stylized in places while other art assets look realistic. This clash could be what is causing some people to be upset with the graphics. It isn't the fidelity of the gfx per se but the art direction clashes in places.

dumahim3472d ago

Sub-par graphics leave room for mods :)

I'm already in line for my GameStop's release party on the 9th :D

I feel like I should keep that Bobblehead where it is for now

In Fallout 3 if you played your cards right there was a way you could max your SPECIALs if you kept the bobble heads until last.

Unless you can increase your SPECIALs now over time.

Eromu3472d ago (Edited 3472d ago )

You can increase your SPECIALs in lieu of taking a perk on level-up. It's shown in the "Character System" video they released a while back.

My_Outer_Heaven3472d ago

Yeah, lighting is very important in video games, it adds to the immersion and improves the overall gaming experience and appearance.

I'm really liking the way Fallout 4 will have a different feel depending on where you are and what time it is in the game, each location having its own unique atmosphere and volumetric lighting.

Fallout 4 is going to be game of the year no doubt!

Dynasty20213471d ago

But the shadow draw distance is laughably bad when you look at certain outside shots.

As always on console - great details up close, PS1 details in the distance.

I'm tempted to look but I'm going dark on Fallout news until the game is released

My_Outer_Heaven3472d ago

Don't worry the person was smart enough to not let anything be spoiled, images are of parts of the game we have already seen in trailers.

JamesBroski3472d ago

Except the bobblehead, the loot system, the local map and the world map. I wouldn't look at them if I were you.

porkChop3472d ago

Yeah, I've been doing the same thing. I remember with games like Mass Effect I gobbled up every bit of info I could because I was so excited for the games release. Then the game came out and I didn't really have many surprises. I knew what a lot of locations looked like, I knew the races, I knew the backstory. It kind of kills the experience a bit. I try not to watch many trailers or read previews for games I know I'm going to love now so I can still be awed when I pop the disc in.

Side note: Second year journalism student here. I'm writing a story about using video games as an escape. If anyone here has a story they would like to share, or would be willing to answer some questions on the topic, feel free to PM me. It would be a huge help :)

Thefreeman0123472d ago

This is a massive Rpg. Not crysis.

Grap3472d ago

That was in the past, witcher 3 ultra massive rpg and one of the best looking games out there. admit it Bethesda are lazy in that department. i wouldn't worry much mods will make it better.

JamesBroski3472d ago

The Witcher 3 is NOTHING like Bethesda games: you can interact with almost every object in the game, everything has its own physics, this game has rockets and huge explosions, a lot of enemies on screen, etc.

You just can't compare two games and say one dev is lazier than the other. That's freaking ignorant.

Grap3472d ago

@JamesBroski
You are the ignorant here if you think Bethesda game engine is ok, which is not only meh on graphics but also filled with bugs. dude "rockets and huge explosions" GTAV has it and it was last gen and it look better than this.

JamesBroski3472d ago (Edited 3472d ago )

@Grap

I never said anything about the engine, I'm saying you can't compare two completely different games together exactly like you do with GTA V. One is an action sandbox and the other is a RPG filled with interactible objects all over the place, quests, loot, etc.

I'd like to see you creating a better engine for a game like this. It improved a lot compared to Oblivion and for what they're doing with their games, they couldn't take an already existing engine, they had to make their own.

scientificreasoning3472d ago

GTa V, Witcher 3, and many more are as big and look better....get better at posting.

DeToX4203472d ago

The game world and amount of content in F3 was much greater than W3 so I don't know why you are comparing them.

Eidolon3471d ago (Edited 3471d ago )

@ Scientificreasoning & Grap

If you compare GtA V to even Fallout 3 and I'll laugh. GTA doesn't have near the exploratory sense, interactability or atmosphere as Fallout does, don't even compare them.

boodi3471d ago (Edited 3471d ago )

so I'm not asking witcher 3 grpx quality .. for a betshda game ..ok ..( and that's a sad position )..I don't ask the witcher 3 graphics

http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-...
I shed a tear for what this game could have been -graphically, too- with a lil better gpx programming

Anyone pretending that a game with great contents and ok graphics is same ( if not better ) then a game with great contents and great graphics..it's hard to conceive

video-gaming is and will always be about visual pleasure too and the thing is destined only to get better and better , grphx programmers ( any game has a grphx programmer or team behind ) know it by their own job

I am very happy with the graphics, if graphics is what you look for maybe Fallout is not for you.

Console gamers should play the real Fallout games not these FPS wannabes :P

Now those are real graphics :D

Anyway the graphics look fine and I'm quite looking forward to Fallout 4 on PC.

Edubencz13472d ago

I think they are great! Just missing some ambient occlusion that definitly would step up the lightning graphics

BallsEye3472d ago

Sony gotta improve on the damn screen capture quality. Anyway, http://i.imgur.com/o9LUrPz.... lot's of jaggies going on hmmm...
Graphics aside, I'm sure it's gonna be in my top3 this year.

PeaSFor3472d ago

"Sony gotta improve on the damn screen capture quality."

you can already capture in .png format instead of .jpeg, just sayin.

Fallout 4 on Switch 2 seems inevitable, but what about Starfield?

A Fallout 4 Nintendo Switch 2 port seems like an inevitability, but what about other Bethesda RPGs like Starfield.

I think all games will end up on switch from Xbox. MS has embraced going to other platforms now if games aren't doing well on Nintendo MS may be more selective in the future

On playstation they have been quite successful

anast25d ago

I'm not sure too many people want to play Starfield.

Profchaos25d ago

Phils all but confirmed they are going in hard with the switch 2

TheColbertinator25d ago

All are welcome to Switch 2. Microsoft Games Studios is interested in long term profits and market value not petty fanboy thoughts.

Ex-Starfield dev dubs RPG’s design the “antithesis” of Fallout 4

Starfield is actually a RPG. Bethesda hasn't done that in a while.

GhostScholar127d ago

People acted like starfield was so less interesting than fallout and drastically different, but I call bs on that. Both are decent games, but they are both filled with the appearance of things to do and items to interact with but 99 percent are just there to be there with no significance. Fallout has better character work but they are both sort of illusions that they’re vast.

Shiore2u126d ago

Studio has been going downhill since Skyrim. Every following game gets dumbed down more than the previous. I'll be shocked if Elder Scrolls VI even has dialogue options.

anast126d ago

Fallout 4 was bad, real bad. Starfield might even be a better RPG.

trez1082126d ago

Fallout 4 wasn’t a great fallout game per se but real bad? I don’t know maybe I’m a little biased because I replied it not long ago and had fun with it.
