Gamers Universe writes: "Rudyard Kipling once opined that "East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet". But it seems the creators of Aion: The Tower of Eternity didn't get that memo. According to community co-ordinator Sebastian Streiffert, the game will "merge the best traditionally conceived features of eastern MMOs with the best of western MMOs", blending the rich detail and beauty of the former with the strong story elements of the latter.
Aion centres on a struggle between two factions, the Elyos and the Asmodians, that have been geographically isolated from each other following a war that literally ripped their planet, Atreia, in half. The planet is hollow, with habitable areas on the interior of the upper and lower world halves and light entering via the destroyed centre. Imagine an apple that has been eaten around the middle with the remaining top and bottom held together by the core and you get the general idea."
