PlayStation, Please Bring Back the First Party Games At Paris Games Week

Rossco looks ahead to a great showcase of gaming at Paris Games Week and is hoping that PlayStation go back to their first party brilliance rather than the steady stream of 3rd party content dominating this year's line-up of games going into Christmas.

The video talks about what PlayStation could be bringing to PGW and if some genius reveals could steal a bit of Xbox's thunder on Halo 5 week.

Sony released quite a number of first party titles this year in addition to announcing new first party titles for the future.

lelo2play1271d ago

Not really...

I can only see three 1st party games for the PS4 released this year: MLB 15, Tearaway Unfolded and Uncharted Collection. I don't think there are more... but I might be wrong.

TLG19911271d ago

You are definitely wrong, but if you can't do the research I'm not holding your hand.

Master-H1271d ago

Those along side the 2nd and 3rd party exclusives that Sony owns, and that you can't play on any other platforms. Like Bloodborne, The Order, and Until Dawn.

lelo2play1271d ago

@TLG1991
LOL. Seriously! Aren't you a sad one...
Why not giving me a few more examples?

@Master-H
We are specifically talking about 1st party games. This article is about 1st party games. If you don't know the difference, refrain from commenting...

Master-H1271d ago

If I didn't know the difference then I wouldn't have referred to them as 2nd and 3rd part games when I brought them up, smartass.

Are these guys just bored and decides to just write nonsense?

"Rossco is a little sad that the peak gaming season sees no major first party exclusives coming up for PS4. Everything is all about next year and the year after while Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider are going to play strongly into Xbox One’s favour."

Rise of Tomb Raider is first party now?

And then he goes on to say this: "But its time to see the first party studios and exclusive titles start to take centre stage heading into 2016 "

Lol in that first quote above he just finished saying that everything is about NEXT YEAR (2016) and then goes on to say we need to see more heading into NEXT YEAR (2016)

Oh and I kid you not, the 3 or 4 sentences I copied and pasted makes up about 50% of the article's length.

@lelo2play

You are absolutely right in terms of retail releases it has only been about 2 or 3 first party titles. Overall they relied on 2nd and third party titles. The sad part is you're a Sony gamer and here you are getting disagrees from Sony gamers for speaking the truth. I own a playstation and I truly want to see more compelling titles that are not JRPG's, I want to see more story based action games. Uncharted and Horizon look good. Plus I want to see a multiplayer based game from a first party studio.

Its quite funny that nowadays people on the internet call xbox exclusives with 3rd party studios first party because of the IP but when its Playstation they argue its not first party because of the studio.

Actually there aren't many Sony first party games released this year.
There are many second party and third party games.

isarai1271d ago

"bring back"? They never left, and there are quite a few announced upcoming titles. Did you even bother to look?

rosscoffx1271d ago (Edited 1271d ago )

Hi buddy. Yes definitely looked & spoke about in the video. How many first party games are playstation releasing this quarter. The entire Xmas lineup id third party deals.

Only 3 big ones out all year in The Order, Bloodborne & Until Dawn & only one of those something special. Uncharted Collection a remaster & Tearaway a sort of remaster/update to work on PS4.

They even admitted themselves it's "sparse" on gamespot (link:  http://www.gamespot.com/art... so I, as a Sony fan hope they really show some great first party games at PGW today and PlayStation Experience next month.

kratoz12091271d ago

Dragon Quest Heroes and Tales of Zestria also released, Those games are hugely popular in the West i think they still count

Master-H1271d ago

So let me get this straight, for an exclusive game to be considered "something special", in your opinion, it has to have over a 90 metacritic score. By your logic the Xbox hasn't had "something special" since it launched, in terms of exclusives.

KingofGambling1271d ago

If your a Sony Playstation fan, then you should know that when Sony released a console their first two years are kinda slow, but after that their internal studios began to reveal their projects. So just patiently wait. If by the end of 2016 and there's not a good amount of first party titles from Sony, then you can mention it on your article.

suckingeggs1271d ago

Rosscoff which ONE was special?

I hate people who think there opinion counts for the masses

Guess what? I enjoyed tearaway and until dawn more than bloodborne.. So which one was special for me as you talk for all of us?

Automatic791271d ago

@rosscoffx

I agree I want to hear about the God of War Project and possibly more from Sony's first party studios. Last generation I came to the PS3 around 2009 and they spoiled me with great titles to the end. If they can bring back that magic I am all for it. So far in my opinion they are not there for me. Again, no disrespect to the N4g community I know that their is a diverse crowd who speak highly about their JRPG's but I am not into those titles.

ThatGuyDart1271d ago

@Rosscoffx

Master-H just sort of obliterated your logic lmao.

They're taking time but the games will arrive soon starting 2016.

I'm also waiting for the games I want to play on PlayStation.
I'm fully aware of what's out right now. Majority of them aren't my cup of tea.

You know what's funny? Sony published a similar amount of games as Microsoft did this year, but you don't hear much people giving the latter flak for this fact.

If anyone says that one side has to step up, they must do the same for the other side lest they end up looking like a hypocrite.

I bet we'll see Quantic Dream's game they are working on, excited for that, hopefully a release date on the heavy rain/beyond 2 souls remaster.
