DICE gets 'skepticism' regarding high workload with Battlefront & Mirror's Edge

DICE has been a very busy studio over the past few years, especially when you take a look at the games they've released and have been working on. Currently, the studio is preparing to launch Star Wars Battlefront three weeks from tomorrow and then Mirror's Edge on Feb. 23.

I honestly would have liked to see them focus on Mirrors Edge 2.

Battlefront just seems empty

Im worried about the amount of content in Battlefront 3 as well. 12 maps but only on 4 planets isnt doing much for me especially when the original had 16 maps on 10 planets and BF2 had space battles and 18 maps.

Yeah. People complained a lot about Titanfall lacking content, but it launched with 16 maps on 16 different planets. Battlefront will only have 3/4 that content and much less visual variety as well due to only having 4 planets, so it will be interesting to see how people react to it when some thought that Titanfall was bad for launching with much more content.

Is it really the number of maps that decides a games content?
- Layout of map
- Static content on map (models, textures, stuff, ...)
- Dynamic content (vegetation, animals, litter, ...)
- Lights and shadows
- is it optimized to minimize artifacts?

=> does the map feel real or like Pac-Man?

Check file sizes if you do not believe you get more content with this one...

DICE is a team of 560+ employees....I mean...is the author forgetting that they also did Mirrors Edge while doing a new Battlefield in a brand new engine?

"Some folks might think that is too high of a workload for a single studio to handle" lolz, the same folks that don't know just how large the actual team is?

I think people need to stop hearing 1 team is doing something and assume its too much work or too many games.

Ask first just how big the team actually is before questioning such a thing, Sony Santa Monica is always working on several games at once, they like DICE can do that when they have a larger then normal team that can be split into different teams.

I can't question anything regarding Battlefront seeming "empty" as you nor I have yet to play the final thing. The same folks who focused on Mirrors Edge 1 are still focusing on Mirrors Edge Catalyst....I'm not sure what you mean as you need to understand that they again did that game while making BF Bad Company 1 and a new engine.

Mirrors Edge released in 2008
Battlefield Bad Company released in 2008

Pretty sure this isn't DICE's first rodeo doing multiple games at once, they are large enough to actually do that.
