Two massive sci-fi shooters are here - but this time of year is very dangerous to the bank accounts of avid virtual-soldiers. Should gamers take the plunge on Halo 5 now, or hold fire for the new Battlefront?
Well you are getting more for your money with Halo 5
Why do they even compare the games? Halo 5 is an arena shooter, while Battlefront is more open. It's like when everyone compared Battlefield and CoD to eachother, it makes no sense.
I dont think so halo 5 maps seem to be bigger. People are comparing it to planetside 2
Moreso with Fallout 4 & Xenoblade Chronicles X as both games contain over 300+ hours of in game content usable as soon as you startup the game. No need to pay extra for Season Passes, or crappy Microtransactions.
That depends on what you value more.
it probably depends more on how accessible it is. if one plays games on the ps4 and doesn't want to get an xbox one that will likely have the greater impact in ones decision of which to get.
I don't have an XB1 and I know the answer is Halo 5. EA are greedy little c*nts.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is the one and only game im getting this December.
Are you a WiiU?
Just buy fallout 4
Or this lol
Um if you have a PS4 then you don't have this problem. Just get Star Wars. If you have an Xbox One, just weight your choices against which you want to play. There will be plenty of footage of both so just go on youtube and see what looks fun to you. Oh and if you want both, and can afford it, get both.
Halo 5 no doubt
For me Halo 5 battlefront so gimped it sucks
Well for multiplayer definitely halo 5 and considering battlefront doesn't have a single player campaign halo 5 wins again. Not to put down anyone looking forward to battlefront though. It was a fun enough beta and definitely was better than I expected, just for me, the halo 5 beta was more enjoyable.
Don't like Halo or Star Wars what do I do? Oh yeah the better option Fallout 4
Agreed on Fallout
Whichever you want? Or buy both
Halo for xbox and battlefront for ps4. Question is which will sell and rate better? Halo, battlefront or cod?
That's my plan also!
Battlefront. Its gunna sell like hot cakes due to the Star Wars hype train, I expect it to sell a lot more than Halo and COD in its opening week. Doesn't matter on level of content etc
@DoctorFraud Almost 10 million people played the Beta, 2 of the trailers for the game has around 20million views. It's going to sell well.
N4G comments are acting up ffs
@Doctor The thing is a lot of people won't pre order there's little reason to these days unless you found it cheap online, but you can guarantee that people will be getting this for Christmas in conjunction with the films release. Games have flopped but gotta remember the last 2 was a Kinect game and a MMO that started off as subscription based. This is the first casual/mass appeal Star Wars game in a while.
@Fraud - Battlefront will sell more than Halo 5, guaranteed. It's multi plat for one thing, but the film's release will add many many sales. OT - I've never understood what the big deal was about Halo, but getting a current generation game with old school Star Wars action is a huge deal for me. I really enjoyed the SWBF beta so I'll enjoy the full game as well, though I won't be buying the season pass just yet. I'll wait and see what the first DLC pack is. As a PS4 only guy I can only buy SWBF anyway, but if I had an XB1 I'd still easily go for SWBF over Halo 5. Shooting stormtroopers is up there with shooting zombies and nazis for me.
@Neixus Well to be fair, the amount of people who played the beta doesn't mean shit. It was free and easy to get into. Not all those people will buy it, just look at Battlefield Hardline. I don't doubt it will sell well, I'm just saying that's kind of an invalid reason.
One is a flat out scam no matter how fun it was, the other is on a console I don't have so I pick Fallout 4.
Don't have an Xbox. So neither one.
Lol the question is Halo or Battlefront? Not fallout
I'm getting both, but I think Halo 5 is a better deal for sure (even if it was just a multiplayer standalone)
Halo 5 because you get a pretty good singleplayer and a great multiplayer vs Battlrfront that is mp only, plus free maps that aren't hidden behind a season pass like battle fronts presumably is, which can divide the player base.
At least Halo 5 has a campaign...
As if that's the magic differentiator between a good game and a bad game…
In terms of value, definitely.
I'm getting Fallout 4 for the campaign and SW Battlefront for the multiplayer (loved the beta). Sorry, what was the question?
Halo 5 , fallout 4 xbox & battlefront on my ps4 :)
Battlefront isn't even in the same league.
Halo 5 no doubt. Got a soid campaign, game changing MP, co-op the campaign whenever you want. Arena mode maps. This is a muuuuch better deal than that empty shell called Battlefront.
hmmm good question let me think for one second Halo 5 campaign story mode your getting your moneys worth battlefront nothing at all no story mode or campaign wave after wave crap and should be a $40 game
Whats Mission mode then? I see that next to Survival mode in the beta.
The way things are shaping up I'd go with something else this time. Star Wars, Tomb Raider, or Fallout4. All might be better games than Halo.
Get what you want. If you have access to both, I would suggest both. Halo 5 had twice the development time (at least), and comes with free maps. Battlefront has gone from acquiring rights to release in 2 1/2 years. Of course these two situations mean one is going to have a ton more content. One is a full game, with a full development cycle. One is half a game created in half or less of a development cycle. Are they both worth $60 yep. With the debasement of the dollar we are lucky games don't cost $129 by now. So yeah, regardless of what you think Battlefront lacks, they aren't asking for the equivalent of $50 in 2005 (which is $129) so yeah, both are worth it. One is worth it more, because it has more content. But just because one had a full development cycle and one didn't, doesn't mean the one that didn't isn't good. It just means it's not as good of a 'deal' as Halo 5 is. Plus with Battlefront, you'll be setting the stage for the fuller feature sequel in a few years. Even CoD and how redundant and formulaic it is, gets THREE years for development. So what do people expect? Rome built in a day? Apparently. I'll be getting Battlefront. If I had an Xbox One, I would get Halo 5 too, but I'm not buying an Xbox One and paying for Live just for Halo 5. It's a shame, but it is what it is. Halo 5 should be a great multiplayer experience, but to me that isn't worth >$400. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of games on the XBox One, it's just I can get the ones I want besides Halo on PC or PS4, and the other exclusives like Forza, don't appeal much to me. Though I completely see why it would to others. Meanwhile I can choose between Battlefront on PC or PS4. I chose PS4, but only because I like playing shooters with controllers. Battlefront in 4k/60 or 1080/120 is amazing. Not just amazing, 4k/60 looked epic. Battlefront Beta was amazing if you knew how to play it. Again about 40 percent of the time as a rebel we won. It was epic fun and there are a ton more maps, weapons, traits, star cards, and characters to unlock and play as. So many times since the beta I've just felt the urge to play Battlefront and can't. :( There's tons of games out, and you need to make best use of ones money. Buy what you want. Gamers simply aren't going to go wrong with the following Battlefront Halo MGSV Rainbow Six: Siege Fallout 4 Xenoblade Transformers Just Cause ROTR plus all the usual games like AC: Syndicate, CoD, NBA2k16, Madden '16. ...plus more. If anything it's too many game to buy. That's a good problem to have.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is the only game i'm getting this season. I was gonna buy Tales of Zestiria but when I heard the game was riddled with Camera angle issues that can make the game unplayable at times i thought screw that. As for Star Wars Battlefront the inclusion of a $50 is a ripoff as that content is obviously on disc. You know the same can be said for Halo 5 & its BS Microtransactions. You'll see someone will hack those games and discover the files for the Season Pass & Microtransactions has been on the discs the entire time. Xenoblade Chronicles X & Fallout 4 are worthy games because they contain over 300+ hours of content on disc without the essential need to bleed yourself dry of money through the crappy means of season passes and Microtransactions.Plus all those hundred of hours of content is completely accessible without the need to spend anymore $$$. Do yourself a favor and avoid games that have Season Passes & Microtransactions cause they are a total ripoff.
I'm not even a Halo fan and I say Halo.
Never liked Halo besides the split screen gameplay on Halo 2, don't care about the story, never liked the look of it, and definitely avoided buying it every time one was released. With that said I still will say Halo if you have an X1 over Battlefront. Fallout 4 over both though.
How about Neither of them considering Halo 5 has BS Microtransactions, and Star Wars Battlefront has a $50 Season Pass. Screw that i'd rather get Fallout 4 & Xenoblade Chronicles X. You guys need to stop buying games that contain Season Passes & Microtransactions. You are only going to get jipped even more out of your money. Season Passes are a complete ripoff as the game costs you more than just $60 alone you also got that stupid season Pass. Don't get me started on the stupidity of microtransactions in $60 games. Why do you people support buying these games when they truly rip you off. This is why i'm gonna get Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U as the game contains over 300+ hours of gameplay on disc without any DLC, Season Passes or Microtransactions.
The only reason people may not be in agreement is simply because Xenoblade chronicles X isn't on Xbox One or PS4 as its instead on Wii U considering Monolithsoft is owned by Nintendo. I'll get a PS4 later on. As for Star Wars Battlefront I refuse to buy a game the includes a $50 Season Pass to access lackluster content that EA has ripped off their fans. As for Halo 5 the Microtransactions are reason to avoid the game. The fact that you guys support these malicious practices that make you pay more for less. How fair is that. Its NOT. Buying Season Passes means you support spending more for less, and plus why buy a season pass that includes emojis that should have been included from the start.
People are disagreeing because you're off-topic. It's a debate between Halo and Battlefront. With neither even being available on Wii U, and neither being in the JRPG genre, you repeatedly mentioning Xenoblade and making lame excuses about the Wii U is pointless. To top it off, here you are, making grand generalizations about practices those that would rather have one of those games than one on an unrelated console are supposedly supporting, and some.... You know what? Just stop, man.
Halo 5, even if the campaign is disappointing at least it has one and the multiplayer will be better than Battlefield, I mean Battlefront.
I think its a lot closer than most think. When Star Wars movie arrives Battlefront will be a hot item. With the recent halo reviews we have to wait and see how battlefront will score.
Call Of Duty.
Neither. I don't own an Xbox One and I don't play FPS or multiplayer only games.
Huge fan of both franchises however BF3 is multiplayer only and H5 you get a lot more bang for your Buck. I would say BF3 if H5 multiplayer wasn't great, however that isn't the case. If you don't own a X1 then BF3 is the only option, where as if you own a X1 I would easily say H5 over BF3.
