Predicting the NX Launch Title Line Up

Sure, it's too early to tell anything about the console, but that's what makes speculation fun!

Kalebninja3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

I doubt they would put out an hd remaster/remake of an old mario game for a launch title. If they are smart they would make Mario Galaxy 3.

Heres what i think they should do.

Mario Galaxy 3
Mario kart 9 or even better, Nintendo Racing would blow shit up.
New Zelda ported over
Metroid
TP support like Dragon Quest 11 and such.
Pikmin 4
1 or 2 New IP's
Revive an old franchise

That is what the presentation should look like because that would give their console a skyrocketed launch. The only other thing i think could make it a sure success is an open world online pokemon which they just seem like they wont do.

LOL_WUT3530d ago

Cant wait for the the new Zelda game to be a NX launch title make it happen Nintendo! ;)

Maybay3530d ago

I think it's too early for another Mario Kart. Other than that, good list. They need to get the ball rolling with NX right away, and offer core experiences to get people interested.

Eternal Darkness is something I could see them doing. F-Zero, Wave Race, and Star Tropics might also be on the list. Pikmin 4 will probably be a launch title, and we might see 1080 Snow Boarding. I hope they go back to licensing sports games to delve their own (NBA Courtside, Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball), though that's more along the lines of wishful thinking.

Kalebninja3529d ago

I included Mario kart because those games tend to release 2-3 years apart. if NX launchs at the end of next year that'll be 2.5 years since MK8.

MikleDemi3530d ago

Never going to happen, but great wishlist. Honestly, if the NX launched with everything you listed, I will buy it day 1.

My predictions are actually based on reported news and common sense.

KilKarazy3530d ago

The new Zelda will be ported to the Wii U just watch. That's why they delayed it.

NX Launch =

* 3D Mario game

* Monolith Soft RPG

* Dragon Quest 11 ( or maybe after launch )

* Some old Nintendo IP brought back to greatness.

* Mario Kart NX

* Splatoon 2

* Pilot Wings NX

Kalebninja3529d ago

monolith just made one and it hasnt even launched in the west yet, another game isnt coming out so soon. Splatoon is too new as well, support for that game isnt slowing down. Why Pilot Wings? i dont see that as a system seller.

freshslicepizza3529d ago

it won't launch with all those games, sorry. nintendo will spread them out more. i can see a new mario open world game possibly mario galaxy 3, zelda getting a nx port and a collaboration effort with a third party publisher. three big titles is plenty for a launch.

Kalebninja3529d ago

I didnt say launch i said presentation. Playstation 4 showed off games at its presentation that still havent come out.

They definitely do not want to do what they did last time and release old ports as launch titles. I'd say do the ports later, but the launch has to comprised of just "new" games. Zelda Wii U needs to a definite launch title. That game will push systems.

jon_snow3530d ago

I agree completely; also this time the Console should be Region-free but possibility are slim.

PhoenixUp3530d ago

In all honesty, a nice launch lineup isn't going to make system successful. For example, Vita has a very strong launch lineup, but its hardware sales fell flat later on. It's the release schedule of the games after the launch all the way up to the next holiday season that matter the most.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

If predicting.

Then
Dragon Quest X
Dragon Quest XI
3D Super Mario
Spike Chunsoft game

and all the Zelda need to be a launch title BS is dumb.

MikleDemi3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

- Borderlands (gamefaqs.com/boards/631516-wi i-u/72123660)

- Dragon Quest (polygon.com/2015/7/28/9057139 /dragon-quest-10-11-nintendo-n x -ps4-3ds)

- Zelda U (all the delays and no comments on it)

- Some generic game to "take advantage and show off the NX hardware" (because always)

- 2D Mario game (cheap and fast to produce)

- Call of Duty game (because common sense)

- Some sports game, my money is on FIFA (common sense)

- Assassins Creed game (see above)

The director of the original Silent Hill: “I look forward to seeing bold interpretations.”

Keiichiro Toyama—the creator and original director of the 1999 Silent Hill—shared his personal thoughts on the recently announced remake by Konami, reflecting on what the project means to him after more than two decades:
“I felt something similar when the game was adapted into a movie. It deeply moved me to see the names of the characters and locations I had created come to life visually, even though I wasn’t directly involved. That wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of the fans and the dedication of the developers who’ve kept the series alive.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how the remake evolves this time. With the advanced technology we now have, I’m sure I’ll be surprised by how the game is reimagined. Since the original was built for the first PlayStation, there will naturally be challenges—like the camera and controls—but I’m eager to see bold and creative solutions to those elements.”

Haha Not only is bold and creatively not what the industry wants, it’s not what most people want.

They want to get scammed and pay twice for a thing they already own.

Nightcrawler891d ago

Hope they use his vision in the game

Inverno1d ago

Was the SH2 remake even bold? Or was it more or less just a 1 to 1 over the shoulder remake?

Scissorman8h ago

it was not. it greatly expanded the areas and puzzles to the point where it felt like an entirely new game. the enemies and boss fights were given a MASSIVE upgrade. the abstract daddy fight in particular was incredible. and the team added two new endings.

Pedrof23h ago

I wouldn't hold my breath on "bold".

Square makes some very weird decisions.

CrashMania1d 7h ago

This is really stupid and just baffling, the explanation for it is also a big non answer, very disappointing.

jeromeface17h ago

its pretty obvious they lost the source code

Scissorman1d 5h ago

they are so going to try to sell the extra content later down the line.

Eonjay1d 3h ago

Square Enix has really gone down the drain. Even FF7: Rebirth, while being an incredible acheivment seemed very sloppy in some areas... namely performance. These folks wonder why their games don't sell but aren't putting in a decent effort.

FinalFantasyFanatic1d 3h ago

It's been like that for a while, they've just gotten progressively worse over time, this game is a bit of a monkey's paw situation. You get the remaster, but you don't get the War Of The Lions content in exchange.

-Gespenst-1d 2h ago

They seem to be suggesting that people didn't like the new stuff in WotL, hence it's non-inclusion, but they're probably secretly planning to add it as DLC down the line, they just don't want to tell people that because they think it'll get an even worse reaction. When they do eventually add it, they'll be like, "We listened". Of course, it won't be free though, so they'll still get flak for it. On the other hand, maybe I'm too cynical.

ZeekQuattro1d ago

I could see that happening actually.
