September was a huge month for Nintendo with both the new Super Mario Maker and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer performing well.
They have the highest software attach rates ever.
No, that would go to Mario Kart 8. Over, and I mean literally OVER, half of the 10+M owners of a Wii U have one. I can't think of any other game that has gotten that large an attach rate on any other system. Something on the Wii might come close, but I doubt any other system can boast of such a thing.
Well if anything from the Wii it wouldn't matter much cause it Mario Kart Wii with over 34m. Which is 1/3 of the Wii install base. So pretty much Mario Kart series the game that has the highest software attachment rate on consoles.
You're right on Kart, but I meant Nintendo in general. No one can touch their attach rates. If they make the NX powerful and easy to cross-platform, then it could get real interesting!
Mario maker was always going to do well. It's a great concept that was long over due. Can't wait to get it :D
I picked it up last week... it's great!
Nice! I'm hoping to get it as a birthday or christmas present off the gf. Will have to wait and see if she's a keeper :P
I know this might sound crazy, but I think I would pick Mario Maker as game of the year. Keeping something fun for 30 years, and making something that could possibly still be fun in 30 more years? Nothing compares in that regard.
