SOMA, despite being developed by the makers of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, wasn’t originally planned as a horror game, and you can tell. The scares don’t quite work some of the time, and can often feel more like exercises in frustration as you play tag with the weird denizens of the deep. It’s SOMA‘s subject matter that’s horrifying, exploring awful implications and unsettling revelations about what it means to be human. You may not be very afraid of the monsters that roam this facility, but the game’s story will leave many shaken.
Spooky season is here again at last and time of the horror game has arrived alongside it. This year has seen the return of some the genre's greatest entires, but both tended to focus more on thrills than they did chills. So, those wanting a bit more of the latter this month would do well to check out at least one of these before Halloween rolls around.

Titan fall 2 was chefs kiss. For those of you who haven't played it go ahead. Brilliant. With each level being creatively different.
Does ISLAND have English subs ? I can’t find a copy that says it has English subs for PS only the Switch version which I rather not buy .

I own a physical copy on Switch and it does have English subtitles so it's all good on Switch and Playstation.
My bad. Steam and Switch have English but PS4 and Vita only have Japanese. Sony doesn't mess with many visual novels which is why I only own a Switch OLED and laptop for all my games.

Everything except The Observer. It started out really interesting but quickly unraveled into a train wreck. Including frustratingly dull dives into mind sequences, They neutered the monster with boring on rail stealth sequences and a laughably obvious and cringeworthy ending. Mix in bugs and some wonky controls to boot.
I had really strong impressions with it to start but ended up absolutely hating it.
I got 2-3hrs in and couldn't take it anymore, the constant need to switch between the 3 visions just became so annoying and honestly just unnecessary.
I actually agree. At first I thought it was a great idea because the game wasn't holding your hand with the Detective work but it was so unintuitive too. It became a sequence of staring at everything for long enough in 3 different vision modes just to see what stuck.
Soma would be more existential horror than anything but I'll be damned if it didn't have one of the best stories in game that I've experienced. Blew my mind.
Sucks that Microsoft Xbox one owners won't experience this game.
