<Looks at Sonic Boom 2>

No...I don't think you are

I think Alien Isolation is the only game they've published I've enjoyed from them recently.

Sega is amazing at creating new, interesting, & appealing IP's and game series.

They aren't the best at maintaining those IP's and making games with them that people love.

* Sega has gotten a bit too gimmicky and the latest Sonic games take all the control away from the player.

It's like your not even playing, just bounding around from thing to thing.

Sonic 1,2,3 has a lot of variety in how you play.

The newer ones since then really don't.

Looking at the main blog - http://blogs.sega.com/

See mostly sonic disheartens me like are crippled with everything else

MegaRay3529d ago

Hahahaha.... oooh Sega...

Paytaa3529d ago

Sega, you need to become the powerhouse you once were in the 90's to say you're on the right track. Ever since you guys went third-party you've been fumbling ever since. You're sitting on so many great IP but would rather dig Sonic a deeper grave.

I played through most of the PS4 version of the game but stopped because another game came out. I bought it last year for PC with the intention of using the VR mod but haven't gotten around to setting it up. I am glad I waited.

Neonridr10d ago

Great game, even better in VR. A little drawn out by the end, but I hope we see CA do something a little different with the sequel.

OtterX10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Sweet. I also rebought this game on Steam for the purpose of VR. I'll have to give it another shot w full immersive controls. I had only tried it out briefly before.

It's funny this was never officially released at retail as a VR game, bc it feels so perfect for it!

Atlus coming in strong for Sega thankfully

CrimsonWing6926d ago

What about the Yakuza series and Sonic?

_Decadent_Descent26d ago

I like what's on their legacy IP list, but there are still many more franchises they could revive. Shining Force and Chakan come to mind.

The Dreamcast was the biggest gamble and way ahead of its time.

OtterX27d ago

I wish we lived in the Alternate Timeline where Sega was still a dominant force in the console space and it hadn't been Microsoft.

Deeeeznuuuts26d ago

I've always said this, would much prefer SEGA, such a shame.

blacktiger26d ago

this was all part of the plan to give Microsoft the spot

chicken_in_the_corn26d ago

Would be interesting to see what they would do for a modern console.

Saturn was a fantastic piece of kit... they just went a little too ambitious with its dual CPU setup. which turned a lot of developers off (at the time). The homebrew community have done some amazing work many years later, thanks to multichip experience. It is still the best platform for arcade fighters and shmups of all time. Dreamcast is a close 2nd though.

Profchaos27d ago

Yeah it was a interesting decision especially when looking at how dual CPU is considered a root cause of why the Jaguar was a failure.

Also the hardware rendered four sided polygons where the standard was three if they kept with triangle polygons I feel the systems development would have been easier to work with and we would have seen more third party ports in the west.

I think it was a victim of its time more than anything it saw huge success in Japan but the leadership and internal turmoil in the west meant games were not getting localised along with a focus on arcade like games were the PlayStation and later the N64 were pushing more in depth experiences over coin munching high score driven games.

Knightofelemia27d ago

I still enjoy my Saturn it was the first console I mowed lawns for and saved up for to purchase. I went so far as to purchase a used Saturn to run off an SD card. I even have a second Dreamcast modded to run off an SD card as well.
