Yes! Great news for sure, such a cool game in a lot of ways. Bring on the sequel!

ABizzel13547d ago

That's great, what they should do going forward is take the American Horror Story route, and have a completely new horror theme with each game.

BitbyDeath3547d ago

I emailed them about that before release saying they should go this route if it were to be successful.

OhMyGandhi3547d ago

new characters, new location. Cool idea. Just keep the mechanics the same, that's all I ask for. Oh, and Peter Stormare.

Crashbandicoot773547d ago

American Horror hasn't been the same since the First season and third season. It's not even scary anymore more like a comedy you ask me. Supermassive should just do it the way they did the first game.

MightyNoX3547d ago

Great news for a great IP.

PS4 has been killing it with new IP this gen. Most of them have found successes and are getting sequels. Nintendo struck oil with Splatoon.

The other guys, however...

uth113547d ago

I agree it would be hard to explain why some of the characters are alive for a sequel and would open a rift in the space-time continuum or something.

Better to start with a new cast

Or same cast, different characters

-Foxtrot3547d ago (Edited 3547d ago )

Could try a lot of stuff out if they did the "Anthology" thing American Horror Story does.

However they could try subgenres. Same cast, maybe same characters but different story

Sci-Fi Horror like Alien, Event Horizon, The Thing

Holiday Horror like Halloween, Black Christmas,

Comedy Horror like Shaun of the Dead, Evil Dead II, Scary Movie

and so on.

freshslicepizza3547d ago

would be a good fit for playstation vr.

Ashunderfire863547d ago

Final Destination game with these mechanics would be a great idea. Any of you guys remember Final Destination 3 Choose Your Fate DVD? It was the only interactive DVD that allow you to choose the characters fate, where its possible to keep them alive. This is what I am talking about:

This would be such an awesome idea!

CyrusLemont3546d ago

@Foxtrot, Event Horizon. Holy $^$%.

_-EDMIX-_3546d ago

@Fox-"Sci-Fi Horror like Alien, Event Horizon, The Thing"

....head exploded! lol, I want all of them....ALL OF THEM!

HonestDragon3546d ago

That sounds like a great idea. New horror themes with every game with well woven storytelling would be awesome!

The Risk Has Been Rewarded.

I can't believe how Supermassive is run by uber creative developers. They can tackle any genre of games. They know what they want and know how to do it creatively.
Until dawn has catapulted them near Naughty Dog's level of creativity when it comes to gameplay with storytelling ideas.

One of the writers happens to be a gamer and was able to translate his horror writing experience to the gameplay.

A true successful marriage of videogames and Hollywood.

Black0ut3547d ago

Even though I'm yet to play it, it's extremely great to see a new IP do very well for itself.

I hope everyone is having fun with UD so far!

GamerGT3547d ago

Get some Black0ut it's a good game worth the time. Hopefully it will be on sale closer to Halloween.

the-dragons-bane3547d ago (Edited 3547d ago )

That's good to hear, i got to play it at a friends house and it was fantastic.

sushimonster853547d ago

Loved this game, so glad its been a hit, and getting a sequel.

I'm confused. Did they contribute to the writing of the movie?

darthv7256d ago

I think the game writes should be glad... the movie is not that good. Its connection to the game is in name only.

Until Dawn Remake.

Saved you a click.

OtterX59d ago (Edited 59d ago )

Boring. The original was a decent game, but not something worth revisiting. I guess this is alright for anyone who never played the original.

Now, Rush of Blood should have been the real priority for a remake on PSVR2.

adamwparker59d ago

Until Dawn remake, Death Stranding, and a random PS4 game?

Until Dawn was already a PS Plus game! And not even that long ago.
The fact that JUST BECAUSE an Until Dawn movie just released in theaters so SONY trying to push the name is not right for us long time subscribers.

CrimsonWing6959d ago

I mean, technically it’s the Remake. It’s possible that many missed out on the PS4 one when it was a PS+ game. I actually was interested to see what this one is like, but had no intention of buying it, so that’s a plus for me… pun intended.

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic212d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23212d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1212d ago (Edited 212d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger203d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.
