In Uncharted 4 on PS4 Nathan Drake Finally Feels Responsive Like a Ball, Similar to Jak and Daxter

Naughty Dog’s older games like those of the Jak and Daxter felt extremely smooth and responsive, but it’s difficult to achieve the same effect when you’re moving from cartoons to realistic characters. Lead Animator Jeremy Yates said something rather promising during a livestream

can’t wait to see New gameplay in PlayStation Experience 2015

Abriael3551d ago

I'm wondring if that's where the game will finally be playable for the first time. I see it as probable.

XBLSkull3551d ago

Responsive like a ball? What does that mean?

Abriael3551d ago

@XBLSkull: The article explains that.

Bathyj3551d ago

It means you may need to move beyond reacting to headlines and read articles if you want to know what everyone else is talking about.

As much as I'd love to see every bit of gameplay footage I can for UC4, we've already seen 30 minutes, so I'm kinda hoping to save the rest for the final game. What I'm hoping we get instead is a 2-3 minute story trailer that will showcase a bit more of the story & the different environments and ruins we will be seeing in the final game. I just need one properly epic story trailer to tide me over, then I'll be going blackout for this one. Can't let myself be spoiled for what could potentially be the final entry in my favorite franchise of all time.

Also would love to hear a little more info on the deeper treasure hunting system they've alluded to. The first Game Informer article mentioned a system that had a much deeper focus on dedicated story threads devoted to treasure hunting. That'll give me a great reason to explore every nook & cranny of the larger areas showcased in the two demos so far.

Jak&daxter 1&2 were amazing games. ND are veterans in the game

"Responsive like a ball"...

wtf?

Perhaps something was lost in translation, because that makes absolutely no sense.

Abriael3551d ago

Nothing was lost in translation. A ball is extremely responsive. You touch it, it moves instantly and smoothly.

DoomeDx3551d ago

And you lose total control over the ball unless you run after it to hit it again.

I dont know I never heard of "responsive like a ball" before lol

TFJWM3551d ago (Edited 3551d ago )

@DoomeDx Think of a ball with your finger on the middle of the top of it. Whichever way you move it responds quickly and easily in 360 degrees.

MegaRay3551d ago

Only men know what this expression truly means ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

DigitalRaptor3551d ago

Why is it that the only 2 Xbox fanatics on this article so far are the only ones that haven't read the article? Oh well that's too obvious!

You know buddies, if you were here to do anything but shed negativity on an Uncharted article, you would already know what it means, because you would have read the article.

Bathyj3551d ago

Why are you even still surprised?

The ones that don't get it are always the ones that don't want to get it.

Wenapee3551d ago

That is nice to hear. This can make a huge different in gameplay experience. This is very important especially for action games. If movement/controls feel sluggish and unresponsive can make the game not as enjoyable for many people.
