Chalgyr's Game Room writes:
“Crash Bandicoot” was a famous PlayStation platform game which spawned many sequels. I completed one of them a long time ago and decided to try another Crash game, this time on PlayStation 2.
The story is about an evil mask dude, Uka Uka, unleashing some elementals to wreak havoc on Earth and defeat Crash once and for all. I think causing massive catastrophes just to stop one guy is excessive and Crash doesn’t look menacing anyway. Of course, this is a platform game, so the story doesn’t need to make sense. Thankfully, Aku Aku, the benevolent brother of Uka Uka, explains that using crystals is the only way to stop the elementals. Crystals are used in so many games that when Aku Aku said “imprison them in…” I guessed he would say “crystals”.
Brendan O’Brien, the voice actor behind the original Crash Bandicoot and several other characters featured in the classic Naughty Dog trilogy of games on PlayStation, died on March 23.
Jacob writes: "Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex deserves a re-appraisal. It’s a game that seems to be only viewed in comparison to the original trilogy. If you were to judge it on its individual merits, you’d find a game that whilst not great, is not completely irredeemable like some seem to imply. In fact, you’d find a game that actually really excels in some areas."
Traveller’s Tales may have been forced to rush The Wrath of Cortex to completion, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from critiquing what is a poor final product.
The best non-Naughty Dog Crash game
I loved this game on the OG Xbox. My cousins and I would play this day and night when we were in elementary school. Fun times.
