Revenge of the Plague Lord is an expensive expansion pack (especially now that the full game is only 800 Microsoft points through the Arcade Hits programme), but for fans of the game it's a must-have. The extra achievements are a bonus, but the real value comes in trying out the new classes and relearning the game from a different viewpoint. When you throw in the human dimension of taking each of your characters to the multiplayer arena, you have a package worth downloading.
Electronic Theatre contacted D3 Publisher late last night to try and confirm these rumours, one way or another, and received the following statement in response first thing this morning:
Revenge of the Plague Lord is a good stopgap until gamers get a true Puzzle Quest sequel, but its high price point may turn a lot of gamers off. Still, if you can get past the 700 point price you will discover that the new content adds a lot to what is one of the best games of the last few years!

"Hour after sleepless hour, the clock ticks on as I connect series of elements, treasures and experience stars to cast my attacks against my enemies. Finally all vanquished, there are no unexplored lands. I could return to my real life, see my kids, take a shower. Though defeated, there was still some repeat gameplay. Even playing around with some the other characters, the lands of Selentia fell quiet. War was over. Now a plague has befallen the land in Puzzle Quest: Revenge of the Plague Lord. New quests, spells, characters and weapons are yours to use and explore. My wife and kids didn't need to see me for a few days anyway."
