BNR: Ah, top-down shooters- one of the more arcade-ey genres with a measure of popularity today, there are quite a few of them on the market. Assuming you’ve played Asteroids (which drew inspiration from what many consider to be the first video game, SpaceWars) and want some more, which are worth your time? Don’t despair; my personal top-five is here! these are games that I personally really enjoyed- if you’re into top-down (also known as twin-stick) shooters, you’ll want to check these out.
My personal favorite TDS of all time is Dead Nation by House Marque. I loved that game so much, and clocked so many hours into it. Can't wait for Alienation.
It’s short, it’s sweet, and it’s completely free. The addicting design of Relic Hunters Zero won’t give players a very unique experience, but it will act as a great attention holder as well as a way to kill time. The underlying formula in the game is Pay-to-Win, but only through in-game currency. Those concerned about a free game being packed with micro transactions will not have to worry. Likewise, those who question the quality of free games will be pleased to find that Relic Hunters Zero comes equipped with great visuals and a very decent musical score. It might not be the biggest package, but the game still delivers. Players looking to jump into a fun little Point-and-Click Shooter should definitely check out Relic Hunters Zero on PC or Mac.
Ashton Maccaulay - GIZORAMA - "What is Relic Hunters Zero? It’s a free to play, side-scrolling shooter with a penchant for turtle and parrot murder. The gameplay is very simple, yet somewhat challenging as difficulty ramps up very quickly throughout the game. The replay value came from its unlockable content, which opens up new gameplay options, new characters, and the ability to skip to the later stages. For background, I sunk about 3 hours into Relic Hunters Zero on PC, using a mouse and keyboard setup."
