There’s a big, ugly controversy brewing right now that could only come out of the bickering, petty, lying, arrogant, me-centric video game industry. But let's try to pick apart the details and figure out who's saying what and why.
Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games is continuing its quest to improve the playability and content of the growing space simulator.
Today, Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games released new images related to the single-player campaign Squadron 42.
With Invictus Launch Week 2955 underway, Cloud Imperium Games has revealed and released a new ship for its space sim Star Citizen.
So much drama.
Citizencon is one week from now, where they'll be showing off their SP campaign. Then, later in the month they want to release the 'baby Persistent Universe', not to mention the FPS module should be out before that.
Then again, they haven't exactly been the best at deadlines. While I'm not too optimistic about hitting these ones, they did hit the short term deadline for the Social module map, so... never know.
Chris Roberts keeps saying "The game will speak for itself"
Well, let's wait a couple of months and see if the game speaks for itself, or if they crash and burn, in which case there will be such a shitstorm. Hopefully that doesn't happen...
Id forgotten how long ago it was that I paid into this game - Oct 20th 2012!
It has become an extremely ambitious game, when I put my money in I was just expecting an advanced uptodate Wing commander / Privateer game but it seems to have gone way past that.
Looking forward to the fps side!
This will be the cautionary tale that all other kickstarters are judged by if this does indeed tank.
I hope it does release successfully and with a reasonable price and rescaled microtransactions. ($400 for an in game ship is ridiculous!)
A surprisingly fair article
In the end I just think it's the story of a man who bit off more than he could chew and is too proud (Even arrogant. Not sure) to admit it.
