Mad Max - PS4 Review | Chalgy's Game Room

Chalgyr's Game Room writes:

I went into Mad Max really hoping I would enjoy it. Shadow of Mordor was great last year. I love GTA. Bits and pieces of the open world environment, systems, violence - all of it should have clicked for me, but it just never quite did. I spent an extra week and a half playing through the game before writing this review, hoping against hope that the experience would improve for me, but it never did.

Think snake is kicking mad max around the desert lol

Psychotica3130d ago

Not for me. I got 47 hours in Mad Max and 2 hours in MGS V...

MONOLITHICIDE3130d ago

Got to say same for me. Game is addicting. You would think exploring desert wasteland would be empty and boring but it's not.

nowitzki20043130d ago (Edited 3130d ago )

I got like 10 hours on MGS but a lot more on Mad Max. Mad Max is just so much more fun.

Psychotica3130d ago

Mad Max is pretty fun game and better than a 5.75

Christopher3130d ago

Huh. Surprising score. Maybe the site truly treats 5 as an average game?

Saelyn3130d ago

It's a shame that I've been seeing just "okay' reviews. Although on another note, saw the movie again last night at home. Not the same as the theater but god it still gets that adrenaline going!

Pintheshadows3130d ago

That's harsh. It is a far better game than that score suggests.

morganfell3130d ago

And journalism can be far better than that site suggests...

Palitera3130d ago

Journalism is mostly irrelevant to gaming, specially on N4G.

The subject here is blogging and this is what is done 99.9% of the time.

morganfell3130d ago

Palitera,

I absolutely agree with you. However, blogging is the new accepted form of journalism. From war reporting to politics, some 8 years ago it began to overtake the mainstream press who all had their own agendas. And at first it was a good thing. People were acting in order to see some truth make its way. However, it was soon corrupted and game blogging became so faster than any other for of individual effort. It rapidly grew into persons caring less about the truth and more about their 15 minutes of fame. Suddenly what they thought was more important than the subject about which they were blogging.

Currently journalism of all forms, including blogs are like diseases that do more harm to the body of gaming than they help. No one, and I mean no one writing today, blog or not, understands that the press should exist to serve the readers. The Fifth Estate is now in disarray and not even a skeleton of its former self.

6 Games That Genuinely Deserve A Current-Gen Upgrade

Games such as Mad Max, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Batman: Arkham Knight desperately deserve a modern-day revisit.

thorstein8d ago

Mad Max is underrated. Such a fun game.

Cacabunga7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

RDR2 still looks astounding on PS4 Pro. i cannot imagine how it could look with a next gen upgrade.

JonTheGod7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Probably not very different.

No idea why this article is highlighting recent beautiful graphically-advanced games and saying they need current gen makeovers. They already look better than most new releases; just compare Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad!

Yi-Long7d ago

It's obviously never gonna happen since Sony killed the game and studio, but Driveclub. Even in its current state, 10 years after release, it still puts many competitors to shame ...

Demetrius6d ago

I'm not into racing games but yeah I even looked at gameplay of that sometimes

Demetrius6d ago

Mad max ikr! Far cry primal, it amuses me how ubisoft just left ac unity hanging, sadly most of the good staff left from rocksteady while being forced to make that abomination smh

I had a blast with a Bugs Bunny game on PS1 as a kid. It is probably trash now but at the time, it was awesome.

"50 Cent: Blood in the sand"

Ps3 scored 6/10 all round loads of review sites but was so much fun while not a technical masterpiece in any way has a worthwhile engaging story and script and of course an unbeatable soundtrack.

Honorable mention to Drive Clubs Ferrari Fxx-K. Should be there over Horizon.

The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak from the Gran Turismo series

Nissan Skyline from Need for Speed Underground

Motorcycle Steamroller from Dead Rising 3

And finally a car you never drive but saves your ass over and over : Honey Badger from COD MW2

I was thinking of Mad Max. That V8 felt really good to drive around in, especially with upgrades.

dumahim466d ago

No one liked the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. Top 10?

toxic-inferno466d ago

I don't know... It was a strange addition to the game, and the parts of the game where you had to fight in it were tedious. But driving it around Gotham felt brilliant.
