Who said it was? How come every time a Wii U game launches, we have an article stating the obvious. No one game can save a console, hence why Nintendo has released plenty of quality software for the Wii U so far, with still a few more on the horizon.

We all know that the Wii U is on the downhill journey of its lifespan - Every Nintendo console minus one (Wii) had a 5 year life span. Thus we will most likely only have one more year of software being released for the console with devs having already shifted focus towards the NX that will release most likely in 2017.

It was a good ride. Glad to be part of it. Some of my favorite games this gen were on wii U. The right move to make is to hang onto it after it's over. In 10 years people will be clamoring for these titles with extreme nostalgia sad they missed out when it was still going on and top 10 lists of this gen singing these titles' praises.

Then ride is not over yet. There are still plenty of games I want to play. Heck X is huge. Fatal Frame looks interesting. StarFox hopefully will be more polished with the added time. Also we have Zelda!
Nintendo also announced a new Pikmin(still have not picked up 3 yet).
I do not think NX will release till 2017, so I am sure we will see a couple more surprises for Wii U...just please Nintendo NO AMIBO BOARD GAMES.

NX will release in the Holidays of 2016 and the only retail releases for Wii U in 2016 will be Pokken Tournament and Star Fox

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3132d ago

Yes the handheld version of the codename NX that is. If Nintendo is going that route.

PhoenixUp3133d ago

Its still an exceptionally great game that will continue to entertain people for years to come. At this point no one game can save Wii U

uth113133d ago

According to Pachter?!? Then the Wii U is saved!

mochachino3133d ago (Edited 3133d ago )

Does anyone expect Wii U sales to quadruple at this point? Nintendo certainly doesn't.

Just be happy there are still some interesting games being released. If you like the games, sales don't matter.

Hoffmann3132d ago

According to Hoffmann nothing can save the wii U and thats why the NX will be released in 2016 worldwide already.

MrBrofist3132d ago

NX isn't coming that early.
I'd say 2017 at the earliest.
NX is more than likely a code name and not the final product besides, they said they will TALK about it.

Talking about a console and releasing it are two different things.

Stop believing everything you hear

Hoffmann3132d ago

I bet 100 Bison dollars that it is coming next year.

Shnazzyone3132d ago

I'll totally take you up on that. At best a handheld will be released next year, not the NX. Nintendo is on a 5 year cycle and with the steady income of amiibos and 3ds. Nintendo is not even close to hurting enough to make that kind of decision.

Metroid Maker Should Be Next to Get a Super Mario Maker Treatment

Super Mario Maker has been a great series for Nintendo, but it is time to move on. How about a Metroid Maker? That would be interesting! Check out Jason Capo’s thoughts for more.

I hope Nintendo brings back real dungeons in BOTW 2!

Metroid certainly would be cool, but 100% Zelda dungeon maker should be the priority! It makes the most sense!

The only issue with Zelda, for me, is that it won't have the same freedom of styles that Mario Marker has. Zelda 1, LttP, and the Game Boy ones could all possibly work, but Zelda also has a lot of 3D games. I guess if you limited the styles to Original Zelda, LttP, Minish Cap, and Link's Awakening, that could work. That's four different styles for a dungeon maker, but I think a Metroid Maker is closer to Mario and would probably be easier to make.

@Jeriphro Mario Maker drew mostly from its 2D roots, so I take no issue with a 2D only Zelda Maker. However, they also translated Mario 3D World elements into the 2D space, so I wouldn't mind that they do something similar with overhead Zelda games using more modern 3D elements too. A Link to the Past Remake shows how nice 3D elements can be implemented into the standard overhead Zelda view.

2D Zeldas were the games I grew up on anyways, A Link to the Past being one of my favorite games of all times! They halfway attempted a creator within the Links Awakening remake, but I'd like to see a fully realized creator. Of course though, Super Metroid was also once of my favorite games of all times so I'm dying to see a Metroid maker too. ;)

Super Mario Maker for Wii U Is Losing Some Features After March 31, 2021

Nintendo has announced that as of Jan. 12, 2021, the original Super Mario Maker game for the Wii U will not be available for purchase on the eShop.

Neonridr1244d ago

I mean there is a sequel available. My guess is Nintendo will want you to move towards a more current version.
