PlayStation VR is the Only Way I'd Want to Play Final Fantasy XIV

Kotaku:

"PlayStation VR may be the only way I ever want to play Final Fantasy XIV—so long as they work out some of the real world kinks."

The story is too old to be commented.

You gotta be kidding me! Wearing an eyepiece and looking like Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge of Star Trek for hours on MMORPG is not what I call fun or even comfortable. Neck strain and eye fatigue will set in regardless of how immersing the VR experience is.

What isn't fun for you others may find enjoyable and immersive. Or does your opinion trump everyone else's?

Rookie_Monster1123d ago

Which part of "is not what 'I' call fun" did you not understand? I am speaking for myself only. You are a lawyer and you should know every word that your defendent say counts in the courtroom. LOL

Salt is strong in Rookie's tears.

We know you love ms and everything ms created but you don't have to comment or give your unneeded advices. I'm guessing you feel the same with third party/MS VR.

Rc i get u guy... u favor ms over sony just like me. However crapping in a sony article with false worries is lame. Just stick to the other articles my man.

Rookie_Monster1123d ago (Edited 1123d ago )

RC?

I am just speaking about VR in general and got nothing to do with it being on any specific platform. I never once mention PS VR, Sony, or PS4 on my original comment. It is how I feel about playing with with a headset as the game could be on Oculus Rift and on PC and I'll say the same thing.

Don't know why you guys always assume I got something against Sony when it is not the case. But whatever

Edit @snipercontroll below,
"I can quarantee that, if MS bought out a VR headset for the X1 you would be all over it."

Well, MS currently don't have a VR in the work so I'll just give you 2 more examples of what I really think about VR in general with these 2 other platforms I had previously commented on besides the PS4.

N4G: CCP boss (PC): VR is ‘not going to be big’ next year

Rookie_Monster 141d ago
"VR is a gimmick. I remember when cinema 3D was a fad for like a couple of years and it is still not comparable to traditional 2d viewing. Gaming is always about you and the controller and things like VR and motion control is only that, a nice novelty."

N4G: Why the Nintendo NX could be the next big thing in virtual reality

Rookie_Monster  36d ago
"If the NX is VR, it is RIP Nintendo. They just need to build a powerful traditional system and not another gimmick."

So fair game from me regarding VR and how I really feel about it as a gaming device.

RC short for rookie... i used to collect sports cards... also ur comment is longer than i want to read. By the first line im guessing ur trying to say u have no issues with sony in particular. In which case my bad i miss interpreted what u wrote. Its too early for me lol. Need caffeine.

Sounds like that comment was made by a person who has never tried VR.

I have spent hours flying a ship around the galaxy in Elite:Dangerous, or driving the rain soaked Nurbergring in a F1 car on Project Cars, i have also had the crap scared out of me by a Xenomorph in Alien:Isolation, let me tell you, it is a massive game changer, those types of games especially driving games i will always favour playing in VR. I recently got Forza 6 but sim racing on a flat screen is dull as hell now.

Also, who cares what you look like with a VR headset on your head, are you really that vain?

I can quarantee that, if MS bought out a VR headset for the X1 you would be all over it.

@rookie

""VR is a gimmick. I remember when cinema 3D was a fad for like a couple of years and it is still not comparable to traditional 2d viewing. Gaming is always about you and the controller and things like VR and motion control is only that, a nice novelty."

Who says you have to wave your arms around like a numpty to enjoy VR? For Elite:Dangerous i use a Hotus joystick, for Project CARS i use my T500rs wheel, for Alien:Isolation i use my DS4 pad, i have yet to own one VR game that requires me to move my body to control things on screen.

I also wish uninformed people(like yourself) would stop comparing 3D with VR, they are not the same thing, VR does have 3D but there is more to VR than just that, i have seen people on here who think VR is just a device you strap to your head for playing games just in 3D.

I am going to bookmark this because it's only a matter of time when rookie starts saying the occulus & microsoft product is the best thing ever...(it's vr too)

Saw a video of this earlier. It looks amazing watching people in a full 360 fantasy world. I can't wait to give VR a try. This tech is actually exciting.

Jubez1871123d ago

It looks and sounds amazing, but 99% of the games battle mechanics and gimmicks wouldn't be able to work in first person. They had to strip Titan of a few of his attacks, especially the ones that put the orange markings on the ground to see where the attack is gonna land.
