Top 25 Wii U Games

IGN:

It took a while to build up steam, but Nintendo Wii U has a great library of video games. But which ones are the best of the best? IGN’s Nintendo experts got together to settle the matter. Without further ado, these are the top 25 Nintendo Wii U games.

The Wonderful 101 is my number 1.

Wii U is imo ... definitely not the best standalone system simply due to the lack of third party games but as a complimentary system to a system that has reliable third party support (PS4, XB1, or Gaming PC) ... the Wii U has the best complimentary exclusive games to date which makes it the best complimentary system to any of the three.

Nintendo as a games publisher/developer is still amazing. Missing out on their games whether its an internally developed Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Pikmin, Xenoblade, Mario Maker or collaborations with third parties like The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2 is a damn shame.

Wonderful 101 is also my number 1, it's really creative, fun, and at the same time challenging. It will forever remain as one of my favorite games of all time.

*High Fives*

Yeah, Wonderful 101 is not only my number 1 Wii U game, but my number 1 game, period. I never had so much fun in a single player game as I did with W101. Criminally underappreciated and underrated, in my opinion.

Same ... my top three games this gen for all systems:

1) The Wonderful 101
2) Bloodborne
3) Super Mario 3D World

Currently playing MGS V and Mario Maker. Both are amazing as well and might crack my list.

For me, top three (damn, this is hard!) would be

1. Wonderful 101
2. Super Smash Bros Wii U
3. Mario Kart 8

To be fair, I haven't played much on my PS4. My favorite game there was Shadow of Mordor, but I still have to buy and play Batman Arkham Knight, Bloodborne and Witcher 3, so maybe my top 3 will change after playing those games.

Mario Maker is a lot of fun, and I've already played it around 20-25 hours, but I don't see it cracking my list. I have several games that I enjoyed more on my Wii U alone. Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Wind Waker HD, Zombi U, Runner 2...

Just traded in all my Wii U games but I did own these:

Super Mario 3D World
New Super Mario Brothers U
Captain Toad's Treasure Trackers
Super Smash Brothers
Mario Kart 8
Splatoon

^ All are really solid games as it Legend of Zelda U and a few others like 101 & Pikmin 3.

Sucks that most of the good games are made by only Nintendo though.

Personally, I have always been a smash fan but splatoon has a good place.

To me smash brows Melee is my all time favorite. I can't tell you how many hours I played that game between friends and family. When I was a kid, my parents couldn't afford a gaming console so I had to go somewhere that had an arcade like setup with the only difference being instead of arcade cabinets, they had big screen crt TV's and gaming consoles setup. I would go with my friends on special occasions after school or with my family on the weekends.

I would meet and make new friends at that place as we were all gamers and we also brought our game boys and would trade pokemon. I don't think those places exist these days but back then, it was easy to meet like-minded people and have fun for hours.

Well, I’ll add my extremely subjective ranking too. I won’t include the 3DS version as I don’t owned it. I did play it for a few minutes though.

5. Brawl.
4. N64 Smash
3. Ultimate
2. Wiiu Smash
1. Melee

Yup Ultimate for me BY FAR is my favorite.

Ten Overdue Fighters for Smash Bros.

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "While the future of Smash Bros. has been uncertain for a while - whether Nintendo will build on Ultimate or bring us a new entry entirely - within all likelihood a new Nintendo system still means something new for Smash Bros. is on the horizon, and that something will almost certainly include new fighters, however many or few. While this might be the gaming article equivalent of putting up Christmas decorations in October, it’s never too early to start speculations when it comes to Smash Bros. before two thirds of everything inevitably gets leaked ahead of time. Keep in mind that this is not a list of predictions for future newcomers, though a few could perhaps fit in that same category, but rather a small list of the characters that in this writer’s humble opinion are overdue an appearance in the gaming crossover to end all crossovers."
