Need for Speed Update - A message from the team

Ghost Games writes:
At Ghost, we’re united by one common passion... to deliver the best Need for Speed™ experience possible. And at every step of the development process we're guided by our community. Whether that’s reading your comments on Facebook or Twitter, watching your videos on YouTube, or joining in with the discussion on Reddit, the conversation we've been having as fans of Need for Speed is enormously important and we’re working to reflect it in the game we're building.

Part of the conversation includes hearing from our PC community that an unlocked frame rate in Need for Speed is a massive priority for you, and we fully agree. To deliver this, we’ve made the decision to move the PC release date to Spring 2016. Our PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release dates will remain the same, starting November 3, 2015 in North America and November 5 worldwide.

So....PC version goes for 2016 for improving visuals. They will rename that version to NFP 2016. :o

Eonjay3566d ago

It makes a lot of sense. Its always going to be easier to optimize a game for a console than for the innumerable PC combos. But that doesn't mean its not worth it.

Blaze9293566d ago

"And at every step of the development process we're guided by our community."

Yet the game is still always online...the #1 complaint. Go jump off a bridge Ghost Games

Iceball20003566d ago

Don't think its GG, it's EA.

superchiller3566d ago

Couldn't agree more. The crappy always online "feature" is a huge issue, and it's why I will simply skip this game (as will many others). Couldn't care less for forced online-only games, I just want to play games, and not be forced into online features.

nix3566d ago

"we don't want always online"

*ignores*

And they want us to believe them.

uth113566d ago

Translation: PC version is runnning like shit, but we saw what happened to Batman and we're going to be proactive now and delay it until it works and hopefully avoid a PR nightmare.

ShellB3566d ago

Origin only I believe. Plus Origin already had refunds but for their titles only.

EDKICK3566d ago

So people complain when developers/publishers release a game buggy or don't properly optimize it for PC and people complain when they delay the game to release it properly on PC. Ok @uth11

Kleptic3565d ago

yes exactly you optimist; its everyone complaining about a fantastic franchise that had nothing but success after success, spawned an incredibly great movie a year or two ago...and is just the go to racing series of all time...

or...

its a series that went straight into the dumpster over a decade ago when EA tried to chase 'the fast and the furious'...has been 100% junk ever since...and is now conveniently having development problems...

its a lost cause...this game could be cancelled and only 11 people would care...EA obviously knows that, and is now making the developers say 'we will make the PC version extra special good a few months later'...w/e, its EA, the game will be just like all the other NFS games in the past 13 or so years...worth renting at the absolute best...

EDKICK3565d ago

@Klepic you miss my point entirely. I'm not really an optimist, I'm not saying the game will be good and the series hasn't had a good or great entry in a very long time and I'm not buying the game since they announced it was always online. People don't always have to look thru everything every developer or publisher say there is a lot of stuff publishers do that is deserving of a lot of hate this really isn't one.

GearSkiN3566d ago

Update the game so you don't have to be always online. Population will change on this game just like any other game.

Adexus3566d ago

It takes that long to unlock the framerate?

GearSkiN3566d ago

Also improving visual they said

Adexus3566d ago

Improving the visuals by unlocking the framerate probably! Haha

Lamboomington3565d ago

Well, you can expect better graphics too.

NitrousX3566d ago

Well for me it has made my decision easier, I'll buy The Crew Wild Run when it launches this year. Seeing as The Crew has a expansion coming out. I can hold out a lil longer for the PC version. Plus we could try out the console beta's to get a feel of what it will be like once it launches. I hope GG optimises the game similar to what R* did with GTAV.

underground 1 and 2 are still the best ones.

isarai176d ago

And they're spent every game after that trying to chase that high and never meeting it

Ninver175d ago

Makes you think if gamers are looking to relive nostalgia or each dev that has attempted to mimic the glory days are just incompetent?

DarXyde175d ago

Truth. Loved Midnight Club.

I wouldn't be mad at another proper Underground or Most Wanted (PS2/X360) entry though.
