Today Capcom announced a new character for the playable cast of Street Fighter V, Rashid “of the Turbulent Wind.” As customary for new character reveals, they also published a trailer and a piece of artwork.
insane how badass he is.. his technique is insane
This Rashid Sayed has many Andy Bogard moves.
I see a lot of Joe Higashi mixed with a ton of Vega (Claw)
Why does he sound like super Mario when he jumps?
Solid addition to the Street Fighter series.
Funny how Capcom decided to announce this character a day before 9/11.
what's the relation between the two?
Only funny because dumb people might think all Arabs are terrorists.
Just had to mention hes Arab. Make sure to point out Ryu is Japanese too.
Except we were told that twenty years ago.
@reeereeeree Relax you sensitive crybaby. Street fighter has always pointed out every fighters nationality since "street fight 2: the world warriors" days in which there is a world map that has you in a plan traveling to each different country where you will clearly see each fighters nationality. example: Japan--> RYU (Japanese) USSR--> Zangiff (Russian) USA--> KEN (american) ... and so on... https://c1.staticflickr.com... So chill the F#@K out.
It's a shame that they put Vancouver as USA :P (just an observation)
So the mere mention of someone's ethnicity is offensive now?
Yep. People are very sensitive now, be mindful of their feelings! You don't want to anger them and have them talk about how offended they were on their blog.
Maybe thats what hes trying to say.... why mention that? Of all the things they could've said instead they chose "Arab", because it would get more hits on 9/11 than saying street fighters new (insert fighting style here)! Rofl.
WTF?! how is 9/11 related to games or an arabic character in SFV?????
@81BX and any other negative nancies Street Fighter has always been about "The World Warrior." It's in the title of Street Fighter II. The characters and the community alike, represent all parts of the world. It's actually pretty deeply ingrained in everything. So, when introducing a *new* character into Street Fighter, they're obviously going to say his ethnicity. Fun fact: Ryu has been Japanese for the entirety of the franchise's 25+ year existence. So yea, they probably don't feel the need to mention that.
@kwiet How is that negative? You also just made my point for me again! Ryu is Japanese, dahlsim is indian.... they only mentioned he was arab to stirr up some people. So fall back relax no one is trying to hate on sf. Why dont they say Japanese ryu is in the game?
This is why Streeto Fighter is subtitled "The World Warrior" I bet his entrance music is : Back pack! Back pack! Back pack! Back pack!
Calm down liberal boy.
?? Liberals love diversity and they would support noting peoples ethnicity.
Personal attacks are not allowed. /banned.
What the hell is going on there exactly? lol Hard to keep up with all that.. Street Fighter II sure has changed over the years.. Graphics look AMAZING though.
I'm loving the fact that capcom and bandai namco are creating arabian fighters for their games. In before somebody make some stupid terrorist joke about him! Edit: dammit, too late!
How about...this dude is the bomb!
Lool I'm Arab and I chuckled not going to lie... OT: nice to see Arabian characters, we have some crazy good talent here. Especially in Tekken and street fighter.
They've done a good job with creating fighters from all corners of the globe. Wonder what's next...maybe a really polite Canadian fighter, who apologizes profusely when he wins? But really, some sort of crazy roided out Canadian Mountie would be kind of cool.
Dude looks insanely cool, love his techniques. Can't wait to play him and see how he handles.
Love his moveset. Hate his super. Why doesn't he have an awesome accent? I also think sand colored tornados would of been way better than white.
What's up with the backpack? Seems like he's up to no good. Haha, wow
To be fair, I guess I only hate the end of his super. The beginning totally reminds me of Genie from Aladdin. RIP Robin
I don't know what's goin on with his accent either. Sounds like a white dude undercover. Hopefully the other voice track is more native.
Noticed that too...but Street Fighter has always had wonky voices that sounded like Americans putting on bad accents.
Cool. Will try to main him :)
Looks badass just like Me Aizen!
I'd like to see an African American character that is not a boxer.
Ik ik she's African lol
Can't stand Ryu, so this was a satisfying video.
Ryu should just be renamed "Default Fighter".
Incredible new character and design, awesome fighting moves, great voice, but terrible finishing move (just a tornado good God...)
'of the Turbulent Wind'. Must be all that couscous /s The voice doesn't seem to fit the character all that well imo.
I like the fact he is wearing a Dragonball z scooter
Look is Aladdin on steroids
No one beats bayman....runs....hide
His outfit reminds me of the prince in Prince of Persia Sands of Time.
Dude is wearing a scouter from dragon ball z lol
He looks very boring and generic. Gameplay looks fun though.
Projectile based fighting styles are becoming more and more dangerous with each character reveal. I like it, I actually like it a lot. Street Fighter has the reputation of being an orgy of Hadokens, even at pro levels. But instead of nerfing projectiles, we may be getting the tools. Parries, double jumps, aerial attacks, rolls. I hope we get more forgiving execution frames as well for us the casual noobs.
