Evidence suggests Activision is responsible for changing Destiny's story

Thanks to Marty O'Donnell's court documents we know that Destiny's storyline was indeed completely rearranged, but who's to blame?

It looks like Activision directly influenced the major calls and changes to the game. The article connects a number of events together including the Reddit speculations Destiny's original story, Joseph Staten's departure, and how Activision overstepped it's boundaries at E3 2013.

I feel that a Captain Obvious statement is too obvious for a situation such as this...

Right? I mean, we know that Bungie was working on Destiny for years before they joined Activision. There was a hidden easter egg in Halo ODST for god's sake. You can't tell me that with all concept art that was completely missing from the final product, as well as Bungie's previous track record, that it was their idea to release a game with a stripped story.

Bungie clearly had a vision that was different than the final product.

I wonder if all those people jumping to conclusions about the game being cut for DLC will read this article. Or will they do like usual and run with the mistaken assumption they thought was confirmed?

Activision is a cancer to the gaming industry, the only good thing about them is they have no control over the frachises they do not 'own'.

@Spotie, sorry I'm one of those that didn't read the article, however I stand by my comment.

God damn it Activision. Damn ass hats. I love Destiny but there's obviously more that should have been there. Ttk seems to have a tonne more story that makes sense and have some depth to it so hopefully that's a lesson learned from year 1 and we can get some beefy expansions in the future. Maybe we can look at ttk as some sort of a re-release. I know it's what should have been there from the start but maybe now going forward they will do things right by the player. Only time will tell because obviously we haven't got our hands on ttk yet. For all we know there could be as much missing from that as the initial game release. I'm choosing to be optimistic on this and will be getting the game next week and I am very excited for it. Obviously though I'll be looking at the content provided with by ttk and look carefully at what future expansions will have. If they are going to continue doing what Activision want (which is crap) then I'll probably steer clear in the future. With this information though, we may have enough ammo to put pressure on them to release the content as it should be if we see them continuing to trickle the content out.
