Master Spy Review | GamersFTW

Ever fancied being the world’s number one spy? Dodging laser beams, slipping through motion sensors and avoiding…sharks. From two man development crew comes a game that’s all about playing it sneaky. Master Spy is an 80’s retro inspired stealth platformer, although it’s fair to say it could also be classed as a puzzler. With a limited skillset of only a jump and handy invisibility suit, players will be tested to their limit across increasingly difficult and frustrating levels.

Always appreciate it when games strip away all the weapons and force a concentration on more sneaky methods, it's often much more satisfying. That being said, I feel the fast pace of this game would probably be a major frustration.

That stripped down, no weapons game play is becoming really prevalent in games now, don’t you think?

Looks like a pretty cool game. I haven't played a decent 2D stealth platformer since Mark of the Ninja, so I'll try and get my hands on this

Although I can appreciate the core focus, I think the frustration would just put me off as I'm terrible at stealth! When it all goes bottom-up, as it is always does, I need some weapons to blast my way out of trouble!

Great review and Ill certainly be picking this one up

I picked up Super Mario Maker last week...still sitting in its packaging. Most times I would joke about that, but since I was basically born into gaming playing Super Mario Bros., this hurts a little. Sounds like the game is fricking awesome too judging by the reviews and other gamers on social media. Might try to dive into that next week, but right now, nothing but The Taken King!

Super Mario Maker looks awesome

Master Spy (PC) Review - I Died 1,686 Times; Eat Your Heart Out Dark Souls | Short Pause

Short Pause: "Master Spy really surprised me. When I first started playing it, I didn’t think the concept and gameplay mechanics would be enough to hook me, but I was totally wrong. Early frustration quickly turned to obvious addiction as I couldn’t stop hitting “A to retry.” The game is exquisitely designed, taking a simple core gameplay mechanic and designing an ever-evolving, complete game experience around it. Its extreme challenge will be too much for many, but to those who enjoy a challenging, pick-up-and-play-platformer with fast-paced, addicting gameplay, Master Spy should be the next title in your Steam queue."

8-bit aesthetic? Stealth gameplay? Ridiculously tough? Sign me up for this one! Only $9.99 too, not a bad deal. Hopefully it does well enough to make its way to consoles at some point.

You have fun with that, I'll just enjoy the kick-ass soundtrack and spare myself a rage-induced heart attack, thank you!

over 1600 deaths ? I'd have to play Call of Duty 2 or 3 times to die that much... on a good day I mean...
