Giana Sisters: Dream Runners Review | GameSpew

Kim at GameSpew writes "I remember playing The Great Giana Sisters on the Amiga as a wee nipper. It may have been a blatant rip off of Super Mario, but frankly, it was awesome: typical side-scrolling platform action, excellent graphics (for the early 1990’s, at least) and kick-ass girl heroes. I couldn’t have asked for more, really.

When Black Forest Games decided to revive the now elderly Giana Sisters in 2013 with Twisted Dreams, I was excited. Whilst it was a long cry from the retro classic, it wasn’t a bad little platformer. It had a nice art style and was fairly fun to play for an hour or two. Giana Sisters: Dream Runners however, is a whole different story."

Review: Giana Sisters: Dream Runners | The Co.

The premise behind Giana Sisters: Dream Runners is simple; get far enough head of your opponents to push them off the screen. With up to four players (or AI opponents), you will run, dash, jump, collect power ups, and smash your way across nine levels of pure multi-player mayhem.

Does Giana Sisters: Dream Runners offer the same challenging and fast-paced action that made Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams so fun?

I can't believe you could narrow it down to just 3 good games, and it was only september. October and November are gonna be NUTS.

MGS:5 seems geared for a game of the year contention

GrapesOfRaf3128d ago

I think it's only going to be beaten by Fallout 4.

I think MGS was not a very good game, and I've beat every other MGS game. I just couldn't get into it.

Metal Gear Solid V and Super Mario Maker are both amazing.
