Reader Discussion: Who Would Win In A Race? Witcher's Roach Or Metal Gear's D-Horse?

Two open-world games featuring two warriors, each with an injury around their eye, and each with a horse. Which one is faster? Which one is better? Which one has a better name?

I think Roach has much more personality - I mean everyone loves to hate him. But I think D-Horse would be a much better horse to have.

P.S. I can't wait for the inevitable, "which is the better game" debate. Quite frankly, I'm surprised it hasn't begun yet! I just can't choose between them!!!

Roach gets stuck on a small shrubbery. I've had shopping trolleys with better handling. D-Horse can jump off cliffs and gallop without slowing.

Roach never comes/goes where you want or need him. I wish he'd gallop to me so I could getting a running mount up. I whistle 3 or more times and then need to fetch him from being trapped behind some obscure bush. Such an annoyance.

Snake with his bionic arm upgraded to Mobility +3 would win. I don't even need D-Horse anymore since Snake hauls ass. He runs almost as fast as Raiden/Gray Fox skins in Ground Zeroes.

D-Horse has better control imo. I really don't like riding Roach too much. Plus, you can use D-Horse in many ways like Suicide ramming into vehicles or Being a meat shield for a certain sniper.

Roach is probably the most pathetic horse in gaming, imo hes worse than the skyrim horses

I've never played MGS V so I don't know much about D-Horse. However, I've rode around on Roach and he gets stopped by invisible walls too much. Unless the area is wide open, or one of the horse race missions, Roach kind of sucks. He also seems to run on a set track, sticks to the roads and sometimes it makes him harder to control if that isn't what you want to do.

D-Horse literally glides over the terrain. He's only stopped by things that are obviously impossible to pass over.

Well seeing how D-horse is the first horse I like in a video game...I'd say D-horse. Not to many horses in games are responsive to controls and aren't annoying as hell.

Being able to ride a horse and cover ground quickly, as well as being stealthy by using the stance button is an amazing feature. You can trot right past a patrol and they will notice you but not be alerted. Great horse.

Remember that roach gets scarred pretty easy and will run like mad, on the other hand mgs 5 horse is used to gunfire and noise from all sources. Who will it be? hmm
