Red Dead Redemption is around 5 years old now. But it's still one of the best sandbox games made.

Sandbox games have always been nice and fun to play. Red Dead Redemption wasn't an exception. It is by far one of the best sandbox games ever made till date. R* presents the story in an emotional and memorable way. The gamer delves into the psychology of John Marston and empathizes the characters. The character development is absolutely gorgeous. It features an amazing story and unique gameplay. The most fun thing in this game was to simply get a horse and gallop through the beautiful countryside.
If you are a gamer, you have to play Red Dead Redemption once in your life. It's not a game, it's a phenomenon. It features a breath-gasping story, unique and non-linear gameplay and takes the entire sandbox concept to a different level.

it is one of the best made; so, WHERE IS RDR2??!!

Arka_Mukherjee1136d ago

Next year's E3 may prove to be fruitful.

Bigpappy1136d ago

I found that it had great dialog and missions, but the exploration aspect was lacking.

sullynathan1136d ago (Edited 1136d ago )

Wait, how was the exploration lacking?

0 min to posting and I already have a disagree, what did I do to deserve this? Do I have a stalker?

Testfire1136d ago

I don't know man, I literally spent hours upon hours searching out plants and skinning animals not even thinking about doing missions. I think I covered every part of that map just riding around. Damn, now I miss that game...I do hope that when/if a sequel comes around they'll bring the PC crowd into the fold.

DoctorFry1136d ago

It's easily Rockstar's best game. It may not be as fun or technically ambitious as GTA V, but it's certainly a masterpiece.

thelwebb1001136d ago

What?? It's as technically gifted as GTA V if not more and easily more fun. GTA V is overrated imo and Rockstars worst story.

poppinslops1136d ago (Edited 1136d ago )

He means that compared to GTAV, RDR is less-impressive from a technical standpoint - which is mostly as a result of the games' respective settings and time-periods (RDR cannot have aircraft, jetskies, rocket launchers, smartphones, radio stations or other 'mod-cons')... that said, GTAV also has character-switching, heists and other gameplay elements that RDR could have had, but didn't.

Red Dead is still my favourite R* game, but I'd say that's got more to do with the fact that it allows you to experience a world that no-longer exists, whereas GTA provides a more 'realistic' experience... that, and I'm a sucker for Westerns - whoever wrote RDR was too.

GTA 4 is Rockstars worst story. Don't get it twisted.

scark921135d ago

@OpieWilson I personally enjoyed the GTA IV campaign more than GTA V.

sullynathan1135d ago

GTA V is arguably Rockstar's best game, even better than RDR in many ways and obviously had better writing than every GTA game that came before it.

It's one of the best games ever made. It is definitely Rockstar's best game IMO, a notch above even GTA V.

BenRage31135d ago (Edited 1135d ago )

I agree, Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar's best game, but I have a special love for Bully. Bully was such an awesome game, if I had to vote, I would actually ask Rockstar to develop a new Bully first only because it's been so long since the game was released. Bully in college would flippin awesome!!! Sorry if I went off topic.

sullynathan1136d ago

I liked how RDR didn't have missions that relied on as much scripted and specific objectives like GTA.

DoctorFry1135d ago

Agreed. While GTA V had great production values, the missions were heavily scripted. I think they should explore a more sandboxy approach during missions, letting players take the initiative their way, rather than Rockstar's way.

ZaWarudo1136d ago

I can't believe it's been that long. Time flies.
