Which System is the One for You: PS4, Xbox One, Wii U or PC?

"It's been some time since we last talked specifically about current-generation gaming platforms, so this week we thought we'd ask the simple question - which is the one for you? Are you a PS4 fan? Or does the Wii U float your boat? Or is Microsoft's big black box the games machine that you prefer? Or do you forego consoles completely and turn to the venerable PC for your gaming kicks? That's what we want to know this week, as we ask you to pick just one system from the "big three" current-generation consoles - and the PC, of course."

The story is too old to be commented.

All systems have pluses and minuses attached to them, me I chose PS4 and Xbox One initially, however once I completed Dragonborne I tended to stick to Xbox One mainly Destiny as I just prefer the controller for shooters.
I have also recently started Dragon Age Inquisition via EA Access, so I recently sold my PS4 however after the announcement of the Hd version of the Snes Classic Super Star Wars I am somewhat regretting iselling it.

I'm all about Xbox one and PC atm, but really want to play Mario maker so may look out on ebay for a cheap wiiu.

I'll be picking up street fighter 5 on PC but if it turns out to be outstanding I might pick up a PS4 to play it there too, I've been a street fighter nut since playing SF2 in the arcades as a young teen.

NewMonday1139d ago (Edited 1139d ago )

I like variety in games but they are rare to find on X1 while PS4 has plenty, from Bloodborn, big FPS MP Planetside2, adventures like Vanishing of Ethan carter & Rapture, horror games like Until Dawn & SOMA, platformers like Tearaway, fun MP like Rocket League to JRPGs like Dragon Quest Heroes, Tales of Zestaria & Persona5

also about %90 of 3rd party games have better quality on PS4, and also now gets 3rd party content first for games like CoD

another big thing is that the user interface of the PS4 is better and faster and simple to use, social features are better especially with the Share button, and the upcoming OS v3.0 update will make it even much much better.

Sureshot1139d ago

Most of your points are subjective. A lot of the games you mentioned are multiplat and the OS of the X1,in my opinion, is far more advanced than its competitor's.

Volkama1139d ago

SF5 will be cross platform, so you'll be able to play with the ps4 community from your PC. Might be you want a ps4 for a different screen or whatever, in which case that info makes no difference :)

NewMonday1139d ago

the overwhelming opinion of the many gamers switching from X1 to PS4 for CoD is that they find the PS4 user interface much better & faster.

all the games I mentioned are console exclusive to PlayStation

here is the full list in detail..

andibandit1139d ago (Edited 1139d ago )

I own X1 PS4 and PC and im enjoying almost all the benefits.

PC for RPG & strategy games.
PS4 exclusives, horror, indie, Japan games
X1 for exclusives, shooters

BattleAxe1139d ago

I chose Xbox One, and I still game on my PS3 and my PC. This generation is really starting to heat up. It's been a long time since I've wanted to buy so many games during a holiday season, and where I'm excited about games that are still a year or two out from being released.

TheXgamerLive1138d ago (Edited 1138d ago )

@NewMonday. When you spoke I heard a song by Henry Rollins playing in my head. Its call liar. I don't know why, anyways those things you stated as fact are merely your opinion and I'm guessing not the majority at this point and time.
Hey, anyways enjoy your silent holiday line up
Anyone else loving SMITE or Neverwinter on the Xbox One.

PS actually liar is a bad ass old school rock song. Check It out.

NewMonday1138d ago

don't be upset man I'm just stating real facts, popular MLG players and Youtubers who switched from X1 to Ps4 are saying the PlayStation console is much better to use, that is in adtion to saying CoD is noticeably better on PS4 after playing the BETA on both consoles.

even the media is talking about this..

"Which System is the One for You: PS4, Xbox One, Wii U or PC?"

A prime topic for mass disagreeing to happen if you don't adhere to the majority on this website.

remixx1161139d ago

Who cares about disagrees, that's the entire point of an opinion.

Your opinion is yours, screw the majority.

joab7771139d ago

True. I just can't imagine giving up my PS4 for anything.

benji1011139d ago

a pc with an average graphics chip makes your ps4 look ps poor.

nowitzki20041139d ago

I thought the same thing.. Until I built my first rig.. Now I am a PC gamer that owns a PS4. Love my PS4 but if I had to chose only 1, the PS4 would go flying out the window right now.

Ashlen1139d ago (Edited 1139d ago )

If I had to pick one.

PC by far, it's got the most games and has true backwards compatibility. And all the big multi-platform games are on it. And it's got more of the types of games I prefer strategy and RPG's and modding.

Plus its always going to have the best graphical options using the newest tech with 60 FPS and what ever resolution your system can handle.

And PC can do so much more than just gaming, like multi-monitor the best video watching plus editing and recording and basically infinite other things. PC isn't just a gaming device it's a tool.

Secondarily PS4 for its exclusives. And finally Nintendo for its exclusives.

PC_601139d ago

PC for me, I have a PS4 but never play it. Im keeping it for any exclusives that I may want to play. its hard to play on consoles as I play games in 4K on my PC with my new 4K monitor

nowitzki20041139d ago

"hard to play on consoles"

LMAO.. WTF is so hard about it? I got a rig and still play my PS4 all the time.. Not hard at all.

Volkama1139d ago

@NewMonday vast and varied catalogue, best quality multiplats, comprehensive social features?

Sounds like the PC is the right platform for you.

Aceman181139d ago

Right now my combo is PS4/WiiU. Sometime next year I'll pick up an X1.

Shnazzyone1138d ago

Wii U, PC & ps4. Really hoping PS4 gets something new soon. Bit burnt out on bloodborne. In the meantime splatoon is definitely what I'm playing right now.

To each their own.

Xbox ONE for me not just because of games, that goes without saying.

I like the Extras, like that upcoming Xbox Elite controller which allows me to use DOME sticks like my PS3's Dualshock 3s. I care about my tools when playing my favorite genres. I love having options.

Xbox Live.

Now, Exclusives - A lot of them are action-oriented which I prefer over movie-like games, visual novels and turn-based RPGs with endless dialogue.

as a result of controller and network preference, I'd rather play my multi-plats on XO. .

NewMonday1139d ago

how many action-oriented exclusives did you play on XB1 this year so far?

Fro_xoxo1139d ago (Edited 1139d ago )

I got my XO in January.

Played Sunset OD, Ori, Ryse and Halo MCC. There were other exclusives but they weren't my cup of tea.

Then we have the fall exclusives this year... they speak for themselves.

Do games become irrelevant once we get into a new year?

If I had gotten a PS4, I'd be playing Bloodborne only.
I'm not really into Driveclub or Littlebigplanet. I'd rather play Halo over killzoneSF, I found Sunset more attractive than infamous second sons.

When I get a PS4 in 2016 which I believe is the right time for me. I'll play bloodborne Uncharted 4 and Horizon then, and whatever else they've got up their sleeve. I like my action games.

HaveSumNuts1139d ago

@theFro you hyped for a $150 controller?

NewMonday1139d ago

so games from last year

action dosn't get bigger than Planetside 2

andibandit1139d ago

Planetside 2 sucks.

Played it for 2 hors or so...My god i've seen more action at the cemetary.

Fro_xoxo1139d ago

@HaveSumNuts Yes I am.. it allows for heavy customization which means a lot to me.

@ NewMonday
lol Planetside 2 or Halo 5 hmm.. I'll go with Halo 5, thanks.

NewMonday1139d ago (Edited 1139d ago )

Halo5 not out yet, waiting over 2 years for it?

even though its just one game if you are specifically a dedicated Halo fan then that's all that matters, its OK

Ive had my PS4 for about 18 months now and very happy with it. It s a great addition to my PS3 and Vita which I still use and enjoy with always some good stuff from PS+ for all of them.
I particularly like my DS4 controllers (very nice to use and appreciate using the touchpad to type in the browser for example) and the intuitive and hassle free use of the console with quick install of the games I play in a given time.

miyamoto1139d ago (Edited 1139d ago )

1. DS4 works with my PS3 ...... XD
2. Region Free Gaming
3. The Games:

Uncharted 4
Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection
The Last Guardian
Horizon Zero Dawn
Ratchet and Clank
FF VII Remake
Dragon Quest XI
Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2
Star Ocean V
ShenMue III
Street Fighter V
Persona 5
Dissidia Final Fantasy
Dragon Quest Builders
Sword Art Online Lost Song
Attack on Titan

nowitzki20041139d ago

You only play exclusives?

miyamoto1139d ago

Are all of those games exclusives?

DragonDDark1139d ago

Why would he include games coming to XB1 anyway..

Pookandpie1139d ago

I got a PC and a Wii U.

I'll pick up a PS4 or Xbone when either one gets enough RPGs to warrant doing so. As it stands now, it looks like I'll be grabbing a PS4 at some point to get the better version of Persona 5, Dragon Quest XI, Star Ocean 5, etc..

Until then, I'll be playing Smash Bros, Hyrule Warriors, etc., with my wife and a plethora of JRPGs on the 3DS and Vita by myself (though, some of the Vita RPGs I've been buying on Steam since they've been moving over to that platform, which is awesome since that means more people get to experience them).

NewMonday1139d ago

PC should become my main 3rd party platform again when a single GPU card comes out that can play the big 3rd party games with maxed settings 60FPS and 4K

my brother is a PC first guy and can play some 3rd party games at middle settings in 4K on his 780, so shouldn't be a long wait.

Pookandpie1139d ago

Yeah, I'm also waiting to get into 4k until 60FPS becomes the norm with that resolution, as well. I haven't upgraded my PC in a while (I'm still on a GTX 770 and i7 4770k, which I think I got in the middle of 2013 or so at a hefty discount), but my machine still runs things fairly well at 1080 and 1440p, so I'm not worried about it yet.

I don't have a 4k television, etc., yet anyway, I'm waiting for that to become more affordable as well, lol. I'm guessing here in about a year or two I'll be dropping a decent sum to get a 4k monitor, TV, new GPU/CPU/motherboard, etc., lol.
