Ever really, really been enjoying a game, only to be hit in the face with one particular sequence that causes everything to come to a grinding halt? 4P's Geoff shares are ten such moments that came out of left field and made him question the sanity of whoever thought this was a good idea.
Discover 10 timeless video games from the past that remain absolutely playable today. From Chrono Trigger to DOOM, these classics have aged like fine wine!
Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.
Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 Remix is filled with beloved games that many people have nostalgic memories of. What exactly gives 100% completing a game value, though? If you come away from it not feeling accomplished, was it just wasted time?
Half-Life 2 art director and Dishonored designer Viktor Antonov has died aged just 52.
One of my biggest art heroes. His work and vision were truly one of a kind, and he’s been a huge inspiration to my own work. Such a heartbreaking loss.
Remember seeing Dishonored for the first time when it released, fell in love with the art style straight away, so striking! And because of it, still holds up and will for years to come, RIP Viktor
So sad to hear this. I absolutely love the Dishonored series and love the world and art style. It looks great and unique. I'm still hoping for a Dishonored 3
Half-life 2 is by far my favourite game but during that fight with the helicopter while on the hovercraft bike thingamajig I was ready to call it my least favourite. A lot of it was my fault though, I still wasn't much of a gamer and totally missed the fact that I could hide behind the rocks when the helicopter started firing.
Still, the fact that a lot of Half-life 2 is a long tiring slog across miles upon miles of hostile terrain is overall one of its best qualities and the thing that makes it a magic experience. You tend to really appreciate the moments of calm and story progression because you really feel like you've fought hard to get to them, not just played a little quick easy shootout then watched a cutscene that skips hours ahead to Gordon arriving at the friendly base.
