IGN AU writes: "Those who played through Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction would know that at its conclusion, Clank was abducted by the Zoni – the cute little ghost robot things that only Clank can see. What we don't know, however, is where they're taking him and what they want with him. Nor do we know if his exhaust port is being subjected to probing as we speak. No matter, as Ratchet is setting out to find out. Yes, Quest for Booty picks up where Tools of Destruction left off, and as you probably know, it's been designed as an affordable, smaller instalment to the series, as opposed to a full game. Think three hours gameplay or so.
The title opens with more of what is possibly the best combination of words ever – robot space pirates. Ratchet and Talwyn are fighting their way across a series of pirate ships (catapulting between them – natch) on the Azorean sea. We're talking the usual harvesting of bolts from crates (time to crate can be measured in nanoseconds) and blasting of enemies, as well as mounting gun emplacements to fire at other ships that draw alongside, as well as to blast through sealed doors. It's business as usual at this point, but fortunately the duo get a tip from Rusty Pete, who reveals that a pirate captain by the name of Darkwater has the key to the Zoni dimension. Only problem is, Darkwater's (apparently) dead."
