Until Dawn (PS4) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Karl Koebke: "Until Dawn may sound expensive given that it only takes 6-7 hours to play through, but there are still so few titles in this genre with such high production values that it's actually an easy recommendation for fans of the genre. The multi-character adventure style of gaming that was spearheaded by Heavy Rain is a perfect fit for the slasher/horror genre, and few games, or media experiences in general, are as intense. It’s just unfortunate that multiple playthroughs can’t maintain that same level of intensity.

'the illusion of choice is shattered somewhat. For example you can quickly begin to spot which characters are destined for dearth regardless of your actions '
Im guessing we r not playing the same game

Funny characters being "destined" for death when one of the selling points they use is "everybody can live; everybody can die". And those aren't the only options either, there an array of combination of characters that can live through the night.

The moment you realize the the review writer didn't play the game but just watched a couple playstation live streams.

Spotie3532d ago

And that's how you can tell people just make this crap up as they go along.

moegooner883532d ago

Is this guy for real?? There are numerous scenarios for each possible death incident. Many factors play a role in each one as well. Then again it is VG Chartz, I don't think they are meant to be taken seriously.

BitbyDeath3532d ago

i knew it was fake when they said 6-7 hours long, no need to read beyond that point since numerous others have already said it lasts 9 hours.

Since when did Vgcharts started doing reviews?

I thought they were best known for their random console sales numbers and for undertracking Ps4 console sale numbers.

italiangamer3532d ago

*undertracking PlayStation consoles as a whole.

However, LOLchartz has the same credibility as porn ads where a hot cougar that lives less than 10km from my house want to have sex trololol

I'm confused. Did they contribute to the writing of the movie?

darthv722d ago

I think the game writes should be glad... the movie is not that good. Its connection to the game is in name only.

Until Dawn Remake.

Saved you a click.

OtterX5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

Boring. The original was a decent game, but not something worth revisiting. I guess this is alright for anyone who never played the original.

Now, Rush of Blood should have been the real priority for a remake on PSVR2.

Until Dawn remake, Death Stranding, and a random PS4 game?

Until Dawn was already a PS Plus game! And not even that long ago.
The fact that JUST BECAUSE an Until Dawn movie just released in theaters so SONY trying to push the name is not right for us long time subscribers.

CrimsonWing695d ago

I mean, technically it’s the Remake. It’s possible that many missed out on the PS4 one when it was a PS+ game. I actually was interested to see what this one is like, but had no intention of buying it, so that’s a plus for me… pun intended.

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic158d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23158d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1158d ago (Edited 158d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger149d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.
