In its current state there is no reason to switch out from the main release as the Window 10 Edition of Minecraft is still in beta and seems to have been a tool for Microsoft to market Windows 10 to the masses. It is a clever tactic and I hope that it’s not the only thing that they use it for. It has great potential and I believe it can truly enhance the experience and way that players interact with each other and the game. - The Games Cabin

Minecraft for Oculus Rift will support all existing gameplay modes in Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.
smart of microsoft to make it windows 10 exclusive but it makes the most sense seeing as how that is the most popular os people are using as well. hopefully project scorpio supports both htc thrift and oculus.
