The data presented, is referenced numerous sources and statements, a sample of 98 games that showed up between 2013 and 2015, although it is impossible to cover the entire island catalog with the means at our disposal.
Having been terribly benevolent excluding the vast majority of independent games that we knew very well that reach a standard 60/30 fps in 1080p resolution. The first conclusion is a simple percentage: 75.3% of the games running above 900p.
We can see over time an increase in the percentage of games that deliver higher resolution than 900p; either by native 1080p or opting for dynamic resolutions.
This also confirms what many already know what happens during a generation: time passes and developers learn more about the islands, and consequently can do bigger and better things.
This also confirms what many were saying, as time goes developers know more and better the machine and are easing the obstacles with which they were at first.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.
Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
"The Brazil-based indie games publisher Deadpix Studios and Istanbul -based (Turkey) indie games developer Wendeoo, are today very proud and happy to announce that their dark metroidvania/RPG "Undivine", is now available for PC (via Steam) and consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One (a demo version of the game is also available)." - Jonäs Ek, TGG.
The second trailer for GTA VI contains an Easter Egg that potentially connects it to Rockstar Games' previous title, Red Dead Redemption 2.
900p looks very good too, I have Watch Dogs on PS4 (runs at 900p) and it looks almost like 1080p. Don't get me wrong, I'll still get the better version (PS4) but It's not that big of a deal to be honest.
I don't get why anyone would be happy with 70%. You are paying a lot of money for a console so you'd expect it to run 1080 as a standard...especially when the other console can run more games at 1080.
Why defend it, you've spent your hard earned money on something and at the time it was more expensive than the other console on the market so did people really want to pay more for less.
"I don't get why anyone would be happy with 70%."
Lol why would anybody be sad? Well Just Cause 3 bombed the metacritic with a 20 but least it achieved 1080p to make up for it.
Yeah that's not quite how that works, not quite.
Bad games are still bad games and good games are still good games regardless of pixels. Your money should be determined by the quality of the game not the pixel. In fact FPS is way better argument because that could either make or break the game.
"Why defend it"
Being more expensive had everything to do with Kinect and not the core console at all, that's why its 350$ with out that paper weight. And you know since I and many, upon many others can't tell the different between 900 and 1080 the argument is dead in the water especially if you need DF to spot the difference for us. Other than that, ppl see one number being bigger than the other and pretend they see a HUGE game changing difference.
