The Head of CD Projekt Red Adam Badowski has today penned an open letter to fans, thanking them for The Witcher 3's success.
you are welcome :D
I hope the next game from them is even better!
Yes! i'm looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077.
And fully optimized from the start.
Aknowlegment, this is how u keep the fan bsse happy.
Very talented studio they deserve it and very humble which I like. Wtg cdpr
"To an artist, there’s no sweeter sight than people enjoying their work. That’s why, in the name of all the devs in the studio, I’d like to say thanks to each and every one of you." Respect! All devs should seriously be like this.
Seriously, hats off for these guys. I payed 60 EUR-s for the pre-order package ("Kit du sorceleur" in French) that involved a Witcher T-shirt and a steel-box on top for the game itself. I still cannot decide where I will/should "waste" the stickers that came with the standard physical release. Go go CDPR! You guys are awesome!
indeed well deserved,Witcher 3 is one of the games that I would always remember and enjoy thinking about the good times I had with the game, like entering Ard skelige... everything was great
Well deserved success but damn this game was a huge, eye opening experience. I am basically at an age/point in my life where I just don’t have enough time to play a 30-50 hr story or put 100 hrs into a game like this. I have only played about 15 hours and loved it, but with all these games coming out or having been out, I can’t get myself to go back into Witcher 3. Literally they have such a great, dense game that it is almost unnerving thinking about how much time it takes. For example, yesterday, I played 20 minutes of witcher and realized how little of an impact I had made on “progression” and didn’t want to play for a long time and get almost nowhere. Then I bought mega man legacy, beat Mega Man 1 and went to bed happy. I definitely need the smaller, bite-size game plays from now on or at least an Uncharted type style of game where there definitive stopping points. Witcher 3 is great and I NEED to finish it. These devs should be proud of themselves. However, MGS5 comes out and I will beat that game. I am currently beating Dishonored DE this week to prep my stealth mind.
Spare a thought for me; Im still hunting the Griffin -_-'
Took me till end of June to get that far LOL... and I felt like I had put in serious time. Feel punished for wanting to explore their open world!
If it takes you a year to beat it, well then, that's an excellent value!
The longer the time it takes, the longer the journey. :) In a way, having the game last you for a very long time, is perfect. I haven't even started yet! Precisely because of a backlog of games, and I agree a hundred percent on how shorter games create a more "yay I did something" feeling. That said, I will certainly play the Witcher 3. I just need to finish some games first.
I'm still balls deep in the game, been playing about an hour a day and a few hours at a time on the weekends. Don't think I'm anywhere close to finishing it. But I'm actually very happy when games take an epically long time to complete: I feel like you get the value of your dollar that way. Being 35, with 2 jobs, a wife, an active social life, and a mortgage, I don't always have the money for new games, so by playing the witcher since May, it's kept me interested and engaged and I feel like it was a great deal for $60. I feel the opposite when I buy a new game at that price and I finish it in 2-3 weeks. With metal gear coming out next week, the witcher may have to take some time on the shelf, but I know there will come a day when I pick it back up again and get sucked right back in!
Thank you for making a masterpiece! Well deserve!
No no no, thank you for delivering one of the best gaming experiences in my 17 years of gaming. For me The Witcher 3 is the current RPG benchmark. CDPR you have my upmost respect and gratitude.
Game deserves everything it's getting. Such an awesome ride, I've been occupied with Rocket League and not really pushing NG+, but that doesn't matter. I'll always have Witcher 3 and can't wait until their next RPG product. Bravo Gentlemen, bravo.
Amazing game. Great developer. Congrats.
Classy, keep up the great work guys, can't wait to see/hear more about Cyberpunk 2077.
You're welcome, guys! started ng+ on death march. as a long-time saga fan, i am sooo happy, that the witcher found his way to playstation!:) Świetna robota, czekamy na dalszy ciąg przygód Geralta i spółki!
Well deserved, fantastic game.
Biggest thanks to the devs for making such a wonderful game, if not the best game of this gen and one of the best rpgs ever made again if not the best rpg ever. Kudos , have a beer
I hate to get sappy and love to get unwarranted praise but sorry CD Projekt Red, I for one cannot accept your thanks. I didn't buy the game as a personal favour, I bought it because all signs pointed to it being a beautifully crafted work of art, I kept it rather than returning it because it turned out to be just that. If anybody deserves thanks it's CD Projekt for trusting your audience to be intelligent enough to appreciate the nuance and subtlety you built into the game. You deserve thanks for not dumbing down and gearing your game to the lowest common denominator. You also deserve thanks for focusing on creating an experience that was truly worth the money we paid for it rather than simply trying to cheat that money out of us. We've all seen how blatantly and repeatedly companies get away with scamming money out of their customers with lazy shallow games, dishonest marketing and cheap nickel and diming tactics. You could easily have done this too. We as consumers didn't have to do anything more than buy the game, which was something we all wanted to do for our own sakes anyway. The only ones that went out of their way to do something positive for others were you. So, thank you all very much. Now get back to work dammit, we're all waiting for the next masterpiece.
The guys who disagreed with you play destiny.
Great game for a space hog
No, thank you for an awesome game! I don't always get into rpgs but this one had me from the moment I saw it! I spent over another thousand on my pc just for this game to get it running at 1440p. Don't regret it at all. There is honestly no need to thank us, you've shown everyone that if you put the care and effort that you guys did into your game, the rewards will be there. You guys did an amazing job on the witcher 3. I tip my hat to you sirs and madames :)
If you'll excuse me, I think I'll take all the credit.
No, thank you CDPR. You guys deserve everything you're getting. I wish you guys all the best and rest assured I will be picking up the Expansion Pass "Feels good calling it that, then Season Money Grubbing Pass" like EA and Ubi.
Glad to have supported the title.
and you have bungie who wants to thank you by giving you stuff only if you buy taken king lol. bravo CD projekt keep on making amazing games.
Amazing game and looks like amazing human beings who made it :) congrats
Too bad they didn't spend more time in QC though. The game "The Glitcher 3" is a broken buggy mess but I guess that is the new standard this gen.
I personally encountered 3 glitches and am on my 3rd playthrough. The annoying one was being unable to finish a sidequest. Two others were amusing, both had sth to do with Geralt's arms:one time they disappeared in a cut-scene, the other time Geralt couldn't straighten his arms.Had them bend and and looked like a badass chicken:] nvrmind if riding a horse or holding a sword. That was funny.
It certainly isn't the most polished game I've ever played, but calling it broken and buggy is such an overstatement. If you wanna talk about a broken AAA RPG of this caliber look at DA:I first.
Outstanding game! Definitely game of the year. It's a shame Sony and Microshaft forced parity in order for the game to be licensed to sell for their consoles. But with 6 million sold, perhaps next time that will give leverage in dealing with them.
I'm loving it so much! Superb graphics. Wonderful memorable characters. So many great tales plus the main quest all with good acting. Great game play mechanics. Awesome inventory system. There's always something to do. You really get your money's worth and then some. GOTY!
Wish I could have gotten into this game but I think I was part of the 0.001% unlucky ones that got a broken copy. Tried for a week straight to get the game working but everytime I died I had 15 minute load times, also it took like 20 tries to even start the game in the first place. Then my saved date got corrupt with the PS4 telling me to delete the app & reinstall it. No matter what couldn't get it to work =/ I must have sat through that unskippable first cutscenes over 20 times to see if I could get it to work. & yes I tried everything from playing it with & without the patches, tried playing it offline, reinstalled the game dozen of times with & without the patches. All the time I spent tryna get it to work it was too late to return it & Phantom Pain is already coming out next week so eh.
Ouch. That's unlucky, mate. Shame you couldn't experience this great game.
I almost feel bad for getting this game free with my video card. It's the best RPG I've ever played.
I'm pretty sure as long as it's a legalized sale like that, the money is shared with CDPR as part of NVIDIA's deal.
Thank you for the awesome memories, maybe if you guys have the time and resources could you please bring Witcher trilogy to ps4 and Xbox one. Or maybe have an extra study like nboue point who have done amazing Job with remasters
Dear CD Projekt Red, Thank you for the amazing game you gave us. It transported me into another world, an amazing and realistic fantasy world, the ride was epic and +100 hours into the game i haven't finished it my journey. Thank you
Honestly, I am thinking this is my game of the year. I haven't been this excited and dedicated to a game like this since Skyrim. I still haven't beat it and I am savoring it all. If an RPG can be this good then I can't wait to play their next Cyberpunk 2077 game. I hope it blows my mind. Thank you CDPR for making a great game, putting the fans first and taking the time to make a truly great RPG experience.
The best open world game I have played. I found it to be better than GTA, Fallout, and the Elder Scrolls. Those other games were incredibly tedious and boring at times.
Finally finished my first play through yesterday, will trade it in (along with BF:hardline ) to get MGS V on Tuesday. Loved this game , will re-buy at a later date but need a serious break from it now....
A strategic nice gesture, but nonetheless one that reinforces a sense of community. Nothing wrong with that.
There's no doubt that TW3 is literally a huge achievement (particularly for a studio the size of CDPR); I have pumped close to 100 hours into my turn, and still have much to see & do. That said, every time I sit down to play it, I can't help noticing the HUGE influence BioWare (particularly Dragon Age Inquisition) has had on the major systems and mechanics of this game - from the world map/'pseudo-open world' design, to certain elements of combat, dialogue, inventory, crafting/alchemy, even the way you whistle for & ride your horse. While I agree that it's an excellent game in nearly all respects, I don't feel that it's a 'huge leap forward' for the genre in ANY respect. I would like to see more innovation, and less iteration from the studio in their future work.
they deserve every praise they get for this game. it was a masterpiece. Definitely going to pick the DLC up
