I’m Ready To Talk About The Water Temple

Alex from GamersFTW writes:

“When I was younger my folks brought me a second hand Nintendo 64 from a car boot sale – it cost them twenty quid and came with a couple games: maybe 1080° Snowboarding and The Legend of Zelda; Ocarina of Time...”

The Water Temple is certainly disorienting, but everybody should just struggle through in my opinion. Keep your bearings and you'll be ok, but there's so much missed if you never make it past the Water Temple!

The game was released in 1998 - I fear Hyrule may have already been lost to Ganondorf’s tyranny...

Haha, only in one of the three possible timelines! ;) Besides, the 3DS remake only came out in 2011, so there's life in the old dog yet.

Imagine being the guy who designed the water temple

Chaosdreams3166d ago

Level Designer - "I don't know what I am doing! But something tells me, this will stand the test of time."

Many years later.

Gamer - "So I reached the water temple the other day."

Gamer 2 - "I'm so sorry, did you make it?"

Gamer - "Of course I made it, only took me seventeen hours."

Gamer 2 - "It's not supposed to take that long, not nearly that long."

Gamer - "Shut up, nobody likes you Gamer 2."

3DS version made it a lot easy to navigate through which makes it less frustrating.

I literally got headaches playing the water temple. 1 of the most frustrating game levels of all time

A nice read but felt like it had very little to do with the title until the second to last paragraph - would have liked more detail into the topic that was promiced in the title. I ended up playing Ocarina of Time on the 3DS and had no problem with the water temple, I actually found it to be one of the easiest temples in the game so if you ever want to complete it, perhaps it's worth getting the 3DS version.

I actually considered buying a 3DS just for this game! :)

About time I got around to playing these games!
Shameful, I know.

Water temple was only hard because they never told where the water level switches were and which ones needed to be active to get where.

The temple puzzles and the temple itself is awesome IMO. I enjoy the boss fight a lot as well. (and you fight Dark Link!!)

Not that it was harder, but I never liked the Spirit Temple as the child/adult two-part thing made me feel like it wasn't a cohesive experience. Basically the whole game rushed you through Gerudo Valley/Desert of Colossus that you never spent more time there than needed. No exploring or wandering there. I was always more connected to other places/temples in the game.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
