Why is Mad Max being released on the same day as Metal Gear Solid V?

Well, as far as Lost Spark Darren can see, the only thing wrong about this game so far is the release date. Avalanche Studios – who among other games have brought us the joy that is the Just Cause series – are bringing their (potential sleeper hit) game to us on 1st September 2015. The same day Konami are dropping Metal Gear V into our longing hands.

Went with Mad Max since I was able to get it for only $36 on greenmangaming. Still getting MGS 5, just have to push it back to October.

You don't need to play Metal Gear Solid 4 to play Metal Gear Solid V.

max can wait.i agree with you.this is the last kojima MGS game and that's something special.

Most game series don't make it the next console cycle and here we have one that use the same story and it's been around since the 80'S

Why?? It's not like MGS 5 is gone for good before October. Or the game suddenly becomes worse if I wait a month. With so many games in such a short time that some have to be pushed back. Would have gotten it day 1 if they released the red bundle in the states but since they didn't n with the huge discount on mad max I went with Mad Max.

I went for MGS preordered ages ago for really cheap so couldn't resist.
Just wish. Mad Max came out a month ago I'd have been right there.

I preordered both. First world problems! Mad Max is $20 on CDKeys but I'd rather play it on PS4.

Until Dawn is the one I'll be skipping until its cheaper. I'm sure used copies will flood the market after people play a few playthroughs.

Yes but Mad Max is still going to suffer big time. For me MGSV has a ton of things in it, like overpacking a small box. Mad Max doesn't look like anything special outside of a driving simulator. Avalanche does some awesome work so I'm sure it will be really good for car enthusiasts but after a disappoint movie and some boring, brown gameplay I'd rather stick to what I know is going to be great. Hopefully it does well though for the fans.

Yeah, you build your car, drive around and shoot at other cars, and get out pretty much to find new stuff to make your car even better, then back to driving...it's clearly more driving than anything and for people who car about cars. It's not my cup of tea and that's fine, like I said I home the game does well for taking on a major title head on.

i was looking forward to mad max but simply can't afford both in money and time. MGS it is but will be wanting to play until dawn, fallout, rainbow 6, and whatever else is coming i can't think off

a lot of catching up over xmas i think while ill be off work.

I'm a bigger fan of Mad Max, but both games look stellar. MGS5 will "win" in sales and awards if you need to compare it to Mad Max.

Both games look shiny and chrome.

Any game would be overshadowed by MGS5. That's a fact. Especially seeing the reviews and knowing the circumstances with Kojima leaving Konami. It's his swan song and it looks like a high water mark in gaming. Sales will be affected. That being said I think mad max looks great and I am sure it will get traction and sell well.

I know Target will be doing their buy 2 get one free sale in a month or 2 at which point I will pick up Mad Max and Until Dawn and one other game I don't feel like paying full price for, maybe Forza.
