For the month of September, Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games – two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360.
This is really impressive, Xbox has really been stepping up their game with GWG look forward to playing all 4
Yeah this isn't bad at all. I'll play through Tombraider again. And try Crisis 3.
MS knocks it out of the park again with the GWG, not to mention their sales have been on fire. All that hubbub over digital only and all my games but 2 are digital.
I agree there titles in the past few months have shown commitment of wanting to offer something to everyone. This September's lineup is evidence of that plus the fact that you can literally keep all Xbox 360 titles and play on Xbox One adds to the value.
Man, I had sold my BS Pacific a while back and that game is over $20 still used at game stores. Thank god MS is giving it for free next month and I would imagine it would be BC later down the road too. They don't make games like that anymore. The value with these monthly freebies is just awesome on XB1 as of late. I mean come Nov, the 2 BC x360 games in itself probably worth more that the $5 a month most people pay for it on XB1. Bravo team Xbox again.
Deer God & Tomb Raider ? nice.
nice, always wanted to play the Tomb Raider game.
Think it's a coincidence that Tomb Raider and Crysis game covers are pretty much identical?? In any case, really good month. The Tomb Raider release really makes sense.
Never noticed that lol
Never noticed until now haha
Illuminarrrrti cunfurrrrrrrrrrmed 8/10 too much water.
haha nice catch there. weird.
lol go to any game store and play the box art match game.
Nice ..... MS needs to find a way to allow a Raid to be recognized by Xbox one , especially if I aim to get their 4 games every month .
What do you mean by a Raid?
RAID (originally redundant array of inexpensive disks, now commonly redundant array of independent disks) is a data storage virtualization technology that combines multiple physical disk drive components into a single logical unit for the purposes of data redundancy, performance improvement, or both. Small scale of course http://recovery-estonia.ee/...
You could probably use a USB raid box, that does the raid stuff in the background and usually shows up as a regular storage device. To get native support out of the xbox for a raid would be silly and a waste of resources. There aren't many arguments for a RAID support. You have an internal hard drive as well as support for multiple external hard drives. If you want raid 1 you can get two drives and copy the same data to it. You get a very minor speed increase from going to an HHD to an SSD. So using RAID 0 will probably not net you any real speed increase. You'll get an increase in capacity but at the risk of higher data loss. With hard drives at 5TB and 6TB there are plenty of storage options for the Xbox.
BSP one of my fave games of all time will get the digital version for easier bc on xbox one just glad its made the free list gives me bc hope. Typo says Battlefield 1943 pacific actually is Battlestations Pacific.
Nice loved Tomb Raider but I sold it a bit ago will gladly take that and have it in my games list for future plays. Also Crysis especially since all GWG titles for 360 will be BC hell yes!
I highly recommend tomb raider to anybody who hasn't played it yet, amazing game and FREE
Nice. Another good month.
Another great month* :D
Lol. My bad. Another “GREAT” month.
Must have been a typo.
good offerings for sure if you have pns plus and Xbox live you get so much content monthly that you don't have to buy a new game to enjoy the services. as we move forward I think it's safe to assume that we will see many launch titles or 1st year games of Xbox one and ps4 become free with xbox live and psn plus respectively competition is a healthy thing and if someone doesn't Agee just look at how much Sony and Ms try to out do each other and at the end of the day it's good for us gamers also can't wait for black Friday, I am gonna pick up an Xbox one. last black Friday we had some insane bundles with 3 to 4 games with the console for same price I hope I can pick up an Xbox one with some free games for a event price. I am also hoping I can pick up sunset overdrive for a decent price along with few other single player games last black for day was insane can't wait to see what they do this year
@Showtime I agree with great bundles on Black Friday but to be honest the past few weeks have been great to jump in with Xbox Deals.
brother I am in Pakistan and coming back on September 7th. so if there are any awesome deals by than I will surly jump in. I am very excited to play sunset overdrive, it looks so much awesome quantem break for sure too and off course tomb believe it or not the biggest gaming retailer here. the guy is really cool who owns the brand. we spoke on few occasions and he told me that he store have sold about a million Xbox one's in last 12 months but he said ps4 has sold double or more he said more people would buy Xbox one but because of how big the size of the update is that many don't want to buy it. net speed in Pakistan is nothing compared to what we have in the west he said that the lady responsible for Xbox relations came to Karachi and he showed her the data for both ps4 and Xbox one. he asked her to look into smaller update size, he said that's the only thing stopping more people from buying and Xbox one I was surprised when he said a million Xbox one, I asked him where do you buy consoles and he said dubai. so ms should definitely look into making the file size smaller there are a lot of gamers in India and pakistan yet both Sony and Ms don't really pay attention to this market.
That is insane. One store has sold 1 milliion Xbox Ones, and 2 million PS4s in a year? That means that that single retailer has sold more Xbox Ones than Asia as a whole.
it's a brand like gamestop so not one store but whole chain of stores in Lahore, Karachi, islamabaad but I am not sure if these sales count as from Pakistan or since they buy from dubai do these count under middle eastern these stores have been in existence since launch of ps1 and use to be called playstation club and now I think they are called games club. maybe they are still playstation club you know one thing they have common with gamestop? they also low ball consumers when trading games lol
Yeah, that's what I meant when I said retailer, one chain of stores. Either way that's impressive. They seem to be doing well for themselves.
Very good month ahead. Cant wait. ? Can I download the Xbox 360 games on my xbox one, or do I need to go on the Xbox360? I can google but you guys are better...
U need to go on ur 360 to download the xbox 360 games (:
Go to Xboxs website and get the 360 games from the store. Even if you don't own a 360. When the XBO games become bc then they'll show up
whoops Yarbie beat me to it
or you can go to xbox.com, sign in & download them in the GWG area. it will Queue them and boom you'll have the license and game when becomes available for BC.
Log on to xbox.com and search the game when it's offered for games with gold. Buy it when it says "free" and it will store on your account as purchased. When it becomes backwards compatible, it will show up under que or games.
@jeffgunz is there any backwards compatible 360 games right now you can buy free from xbox.Com so I can try it out and see if works so I can get the ones that are coming in September? You can give me a list of a few?
@ Riddler You can't access the games till the release of BC to everyone or a game that has been BC already if you are in the preview program.
You can't do it from xbox one but you can do it from xbox.com or something like that. So if your sold 360 you can have the gwg attached to your profile and when bc is ready it'll appear ready to download.
true... but you can bet the option will likely be there come the 1st.. its never been there as the feature doesnt exist yet.. now that gwg 360 works on x1, theyll add the option to DL direct from x1 (one can assume anyways)
Dang, I just bought TR to. Oh well.
Me too lol! Granted it was only $10 on sale a few weeks ago but still my gears are ground.
Everything change for me since this past E3 I sold my ps4 and got me the xbone, I will get a ps4 when uncharted shows up.
Have not played Tomb Raider yet. Im 97% full on my HDD, time to buy an external, what is everyone using for a 1tb?
i got a westgate my book 2TB for $90 at best buy. edit: yeah 2TB lol
Thats not bad, Im guessing you meant 2tb ;)
I got a 2tb WD My passport last year. Gonna get a SSD next tax time just for games I play everyday. Its so easy to install, literally plug and go.
They have a 4tb on Newegg for 159.99, or a 2tb for 79.99.
So I would suggest as others have getting 2TB...however if you jump now Amazon has the Seagate 1TB USB 3.0 drive for $54.99 for Prime members... pretty cheap. http://www.amazon.com/Seaga...
4TB western digital, I love it
It's a very decent game.
If you want even better performance get the HGST Touro S http://www.amazon.com/HGST-... It's a 7200RPM HDD and is faster than most other external 2.5" HDDs.
Is their a limit to what bandwidth the X1's CPU can support when loading?? I never thought about that
@GUTZnPAPERCUTZ I can't say for sure but I don't think you're likely to hit a bandwidth bottleneck any time soon with external HDDs on the Xbox One.
2TB $70 http://www.bestbuy.com/site... Get it now it only last today.
using a 3tb Seagate backup plus. (desktop drive.. 7200rpm 3.5") been working great since they added the option.. think i got it on sale for like $90
So all these are playable on Xbox One correct? I have Crysis 3 and Tomb Raider on PC. I'm interested to see how the console versions stack up.
They will be when bc rolls out in a couple months
Don't even bother if you have them on PC. Tomb Raider is 30fps on Xbox One.
I figured that, I just wanted to compare and contrast just for the sake of it.
Yes, but in some instances the Definitive Edition looks better on the X1 because the PC never got those changes.
@UkrainianWarrior Yea, but I prefer gameplay over graphics
@ Software Wow, these giddy clowns cant even give you a proper answer. No, no you cant play these on your X1 right now, nor do we know if you'll be able to as neither game is on the BC list (yet). But as you can see, everybody and their mother is assuming you will be able to. I say not so fast. So for now, you can only play these on a 360. And the BC list right now is only like 20-something games. And is expected to be around 140-ish once released.
The PC version of Crysis is much better. Tomb Raider on XBO is fine with updated graphics and the DLC..., but performance is still better on PC. But free is free.
free is free my friend.
Tomb Raider: So happy that this is free, I've been thinking of getting it to see if Rise would interest me. Battlestations Pacific: I definitely recommend people to try this out. Multiplayer was lacking, but the single player was a lot of fun with the excellent synergy between aircraft, warships and submarines. Mustang pack DLC was kinda pay 2 win, with the P-51 mustang, a better Jap bomber, a 40 torpedo destroyer (the lolz) and the broken OP Montana and Super Yamato battleships (which dominate 4v4 naval multiplayer battles.
Speaking of which, I wonder what the hold up for Ryse going to GWG is?
