Warhammer 40K: Regicide is the spawn of Hammerfall Publishing, one of many during Games Workshop's IP handouts. While its core base gameplay is similar to that of chess; the unit types, the move types, and a similar but not identical board, the similarities stop there. The chess basis may be enough to get people interested, or even the promise of some original content from a rather stale looking franchise. The advanced strategies and content within are there to keep you hooked, entice you to take part in the multiplayer, and grind levels because of the promise of more unlockable content.
