Witcher 3’s New Game+ is too much for me

By now, you've probably heard The Witcher 3 is a massive game, but it's difficult to put into words the game's sheer scale. Glancing at that gargantuan map dotted with question marks is incredibly overwhelming, especially if you're the kind of person who has to seek out and complete everything that pops up. It's easy to stare at your quest log (filled with several dozen requests from various villagers and royalty alike) and get paralyzed with indecision. Thanks to a bit of DLC that CD Projekt Red plans on releasing in the near future, the Polish studio has willed into existence a new way to make its beautiful, overflowing world feel even more enveloping.

1x100% playthrough is plenty for me.

Its already taken up 250hours of my gaming life. Its a great game, but not great enough to play again.

I haven't even finished the game, but I'm playing in a conservative way, so it would be nice to play a new game and to choose different options. My only concern is, how much will I level up before the DLC comes out?

If you do enough you should be able to reach level 35 before game's end. It might vary depending on the difficulty. The DLC's and perhaps NG+ will allow you to level beyond 35.

There is no level cap, so you can level up as much as you want.

I personally haven't even started 3 yet, just finished 1 and starting 2.

Think this is good in a way that by the time I make my way to 3 all dlc will be out and also 1st of the expansions.

But the question is whether or not other games will dominate my life, I know for certain that fallout 4 and metal gear solid V will =/

Doing side quests seems to take a while to level up. I found that the main quests seem to give much more experience.

HI! Since you are an veteran of over 250 hours, question. I have some note I'm supposed to read for some mission about a "horn" I supposedly picked up. But I cannot for the life of me find this letter in my inventory. I tried them all!

Any thoughts? Glitch? Or it isn't actually in my inventory and if not, where is the chest I was to pick this up located?

Quest related notes have to be in your 'Quest Items' from the pause menu. Might be a bug otherwise...

Man I welcome this. I want to start new with my gear and play EVERYONE in Gwent, and hit every single spot in White Orchard without feeling like I have something to catch up too. I can take my time and just play the game at leisure. Then put it down forever when Fallout 4 comes out.

I played the Witcher 3 for over 80 hours and didn't complete most of the games quests. With so many good games coming this fall and next year, I doubt I will have time to complete a new game plus.

I wont jump into NG+ right away, but I will do it eventually. Id like to make different choices and feel like a bada@@ doing them. CD P put a lot of effort into putting this into the game. The fans asked for it, I wont let them down. I will play it, but I don't want to be fatigued.

so the author has some completionist ocd and that makes ng+ anything but positive? Of course the game started to drag on if you were doing a bunch of those question marks. The rewards for those become under leveled real fast and there is just too many of them. Forcing yourself to do some pointless tasks just because they are there is kind of silly. I've finished the game and all the quests and had a great time. Now I'm excited for ng+. I have no reason to want to clear some level 15 monster nests if im not having fun. I do some that are near me when I am wandering and just playing around.

I have no problem with them adding ng+ because some people love it, but it's not for me in that game. I prefer ng+ in games like arkham knight where you get to go back with all the gadgets and play through the game that way. For a massive open world game like W3 I just wouldn't have as much fun though.

The problem I have with playing a game like this again is while you have the option to go for many additional options in the games dialogue, I chose the options that were most natural to me, the first time around.

Playing again and responding with things that don't feel natural, or sit right with me morally makes me feel a little odd. Because as an immersive game, I get engaged in the Witchers story, almost as if it is first person, as if I am Geralt, therefore to answer uncharacteristically I have to detach myself from that sense of immersion, intentionally instating a continual awareness that it's just a game.

That somewhat dampens the experience for me, and there's just no beating that first playthrough where I respond to the dialogue with my own gut instincts, and craft my own adventure naturally, while being fully immersed into my role as Geralt.

If I was a fan of the combat (I am not) then I could see it being worth playing NG+ again, but for me, it for me, it's just not that appealing.

Ill play again on Death March, and choose different story options, but probably not until the expansions come out, and Ill probably mostly focus on only the story and main side quests (not hunting down every question mark again)

Seriously that this is a reason to complain now? Too much content? I think its actually a reason to praise those games. To each his one, I guess. I welcome TW3 ng+ and Im very ready to dig in!

Awesome. On a tangent...I wish they would make another dragon's dogma with this much content. I miss scaling chimeras and stabbing them to death :D

I like the game a lot but I don't really feel compelled to start new game plus. The endgame lets you explore the map and do things you missed so I don't find the feature all that necessary. It's also very long and I don't know if I could stand to do the story all over again. NG+ makes more sense to me on a game that is smaller or more linear.

i got witcher 3 in june 2nd checked my total platime , and my jaw droped : 22 days and some hours , onl game iv beeen attached to since then , still havent finished story got like 50+ relic swords and god damit i can't explain how much i love this game , level 56 fucking love this game .
