Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is a trilogy of games consisting of the original Uncharted series that was released on the PlayStation 3. While Uncharted 2 and 3 have managed to endure the test of time, the original Uncharted always looked the worst of the bunch.

Thankfully Bluepoint Games seem to have done a remarkable job, and not only replaced the horrible character models from Uncharted 1, they have also made several changes to the lighting and textures in the game.

The most impressive thing about this isn't the graphics but rather the silky smooth 60 FPS performance. It's how the game is meant to be played in a crispy responsive manner that you can't experience on the PS3. I'm buying this for the 60 FPS alone.

Sadly this highlight one of the biggest issue of this generation of consoles. They're only good for playing the last gen games while the current gen games runs at a trashy @ 30 or below FPS.

How long do I have to wait for Bloodborne 60 FPS? Another decade?

OK guys let be honest,Uncharted Collection received enhancements in soft shadows and better lighting especially in uncharted 1 but other elements such as textures,physics and characters models didn't get that much improvements & enhancements..do I impressed?? No ,does this remaster worth to buy with full price? first of all I can't name this collection a remaster it doesn't have what need to be remaster.second of all no for people who played before no is not worth it,but in other hand the players who comes from x360 or wii yes without doubt they have to try it..

Well for another perspective, I will probably break down and by a ps4 once this is released as Uncharted is one of my favorites of all time, and I've replayed it several times.

I bought the ps3 Uncharted combo and it looks like ol Drake will make me buy the ps4. I wanted to hold off since I have such a backlog, but that series is just the perfect summer time action movie game.

After beating tomb raider on 4KPC I'm slightly worried it won't hold up so I will play some old console some games, with jaggies and low resolution to get me used to it. Then play uncharted and it will look amazing.

I've never gamed in 4k so I can't comment on the graphical fidelity of that but ultimately the game is still a last gen title so maybe the leap won't be that great? I assume that 4k doesn't change the assets and the textures, just makes the image sharper and the colors better....I'm sure it's very sharp but how different does it make the game actually look?

I personally thought UC3 blew Tomb Raider out of the water in the art department but a lot of my preference comes down to actual art direction & environmental variety. TR was great fun but playing in the same location for the full duration was kinda hohum for me. Shame that RotTR won't be offering a wider experience in that realm as it'll only offer 2 locations. There will have been more globe trotting and interesting art and environment potential in a couple hours of UC2 than there will have been in the whole of the TR series by the time the credits roll on RotTR. One of the big reasons I'm not a huge fan of open world, especially in my Action/Adventure games.

But Tomb Raider on the PC looks amazing at any reasonable resolution. He's just saying it looks even better at 4k. Even at 720p I thought Tomb Raider on PC looked better than any of the Uncharted games. With all the added graphical features of the PC version it was literally on par with "next gen" games. The Definitive Edition on PS4, for example, is similar to the PC version and can compete visually with any other PS4 game I've played.

Yup, there's definitely a nice improvement in textures and character models.

However, I find it unfair that the article speaks of the first Uncharted game as if it looked awful. It didn't. Have we forgotten how stunning it looked at release? We have to consider it was an early PS3 game, and compared to other games that came out at the same time, Uncharted 1 was top of the league graphically.

Hell, it STILL looks pretty decent today, even if it obviously doesn't hold a candle to the likes of Uncharted 2 / 3, God of War 3, etc.

This is so true. Being honest, Drake's Fortune was the first game since the 3D boom to give me that "OMG!!!" moment graphically. Absolutely stunning for it's time and well ahead of it's time in terms of graphics.(IMHO)

I want new IPs not something I have already played a million times. Sony made big promises and hasn't lived up to them imo. What would you rather have, Naughty Dog take time out of their schedule, pushing back UC4 and whatever else they are working on for months or would you rather have a more significant graphical upgrade on 10 year old titles that you've already played?

I think what The Coalition is doing w/ the Gears Remake is great but people should also take into account that the time they spent remaking that game will take away time from their actual new games, Gears 4 and whatever else they could potentially make. If MS pushes a strict holiday 2016 deadline on Gears 4, then every day, week & month spent on the Gears remake will have been time that could've been spent on making the brand new installment even more special. Would you rather have this upgrade or a few more hours of campaign and interesting tight new modes for mp on the actual next installment?

You are definitely right, things like employees and budgets are in infinite supply. The Coalition consists of around 23 teams but 22 of those are secret shadow teams that no one knows exists.

Just strange that Rod Fergusson, the man behind Gears 4, is also the man behind Gears UE. Also strange that he also said this about the development of Gears UE:

“It’s really hard work. It takes a long time,” he said, as reported by IGN.

“It took us in the end 16 to 18 months to do the first one, and to try and do three games – how many people would we need to have? It just wasn’t logistically or physically or technically possible. For us it was really about what can we do, what can we focus on.”

I guess resources and developers aren't in infinite supply then? I mean if its completely irrelevant and the secret shadow teams are working on Gears UE, then what is all of this nonsense about resource management he is referring to?

I'm really excited for gamers who've never gotten to experience Uncharted 1-3 to finally have that chance now. I'll personally be buying this, even with having played them on PS3. Also, to me, getting to play/experience Nathan Drakes story again on PS4, at 1080p/60fps with many changes/improvements made, along with improvements we still don't know about will make it totally worth it "in my opinion"

Just started Ori on the XB1, man what game, incredible. I have both Gears and Until Dawn coming in a week or so and a few days later MGS5. This is on top of about 10 games on the shelf I have yet to tackle such as Yoshi Wooly World and Dying Light.

On the upside, I have two weeks annual leave booked off after this week and nothing planned so I should have bags of time to focus on some games.

Trouble is, I dont like to rush games, I like to savour them, get the collectibles, soak up the atmoshere, story and enjoy the detail so each game takes me a good while.

Uncharted Drakes Fortune was my first PS3 game. I remember being in the store trying to pick out a game, and this one guy was like "I'd buy Heavenly Sword" Its better than Uncharted. I was about to go with Heavenly Sword, but something about Uncharted spoke to me. So, I chose Uncharted & never regretted my decision. I was so glad to start off the PS3 era with Uncharted Drakes Fortune & end the PS3 era with The Last of Us.

Damn if that wasn't MY decision too!!! Seriously, I was sitting there with a copy of each in my hands weighing back and forth. I settled on Uncharted simply because it looked to be somewhat of a spiritual successor to Tomb Raider (which by then had started to lose it's way from what it was). Strangely enough, I wanted to end with TLU too. But, my PS3 died just before the release of the game. As luck would have it, my friend just got a code for the new version and gifted it to me. So, I am gonna start on that real soon. I've avoided all of the spoilers for the game thus far, so it should be a pretty good experience.

TLoU "in my opinion" is a gaming experience unparalleled. Some may say the story isn't original, but the way the dialogue is delivered by Joel ( Troy Baker ) Ellie ( Ashley Johnson ) is pure perfection. Along with the other characters you come across, encluding NPCs.

The combat was so intense for me. I looked at the enemies during encounters as "Survivors" just like Joel & Ellie. I didn't like having to kill them, but when I had no other option I would. Believe it or not, I shot a guy in the stomach with a shotgun, during a later scene in the game & the end result hit me hard. Ellie's reaction/dialogue added to the emotion.

I honestly hope you'll be as emotionally invested in the game as I was. Along with the millions of other gamers who were touched by it as well.

now compare that to real remasters like halo 1+2 on the H.T.M.C.C those 2 games are true remasters they took the games and revamped the entire levels, character models, cut scenes and even added new dialogue on top of that you can switch back and forth so you can see the amount that has been changed exactly the same goes for gears of war, a totally revamped engine with brand new added dialogue and gameplay footage etc...

I found Uncharted to be decent at best, played through all three, had some nice moments. Replay value for me is zero, as the games are quite repetitive, and I never got attached to the characters.

I think UC1 graphics is better now than UC2.. now its more similar to uc3 finally my 2 favorite episode uc1 and uc3 in full glory...

Looks fine to me and is an upgrade obviously with the 1080/60 performance. Wait till people see it in motion playing it - THAT is when you will notice how much better it looks and plays on PS4. Hope we get a Resistance Trilogy next Sony.

I have all the Uncharted games, but looks like I buy this Collection for the PS4 and replay all 3 games again before Uncharted 4 comes out.

Not much diference over all, some images have blured backgrounds on PS4 while PS3 looks OK, they are using the Uncharted 3 models and special effects like fire and explosions in Uncharted 1, its just reuse the assets in a proper way.

And with no online on the PS4 that means the PS3 games are better then the PS4 games.
