Mad Max is out September 1 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. With the date is fast-approaching, here are a few things you should know about Mad Max before deciding whether to purchase or not.
Mad Max is for real, it won't get worse than a 78 metacritic. It looks awesome.
Metacritic sucks. I never understood why a game under 78 is considered mixed reviews, but with music the score has to be under 60 for it to be considered mixed.
That the PC pre-order is about £19 most weekends on G2A. it's a Warner Bros game, their last 2 were both dodgy PC ports. Half the price for half the confidence it'll actually work lol.
Looks trite in everything other than the Mad Max name. I hope to be proven wrong as I am a big fan of the movies (recent included) but fear a let down. Time will tell...
Mad Max looks like it will be severely underrated. I'll definitely be picking it up. I watched an hour long Twitch stream with the devs and it seems like a very cool mix of open world adventure, Arkham-style combat, and car combat.
One thing we still need to know... HOW IT RUNS ON PC since all we've gotten is PS4 footage. (and remember PS4 footage showed great performance and features in Batman: Arkham Knight... and the PC version??? yeah) Yes Avalanche is a different dev, but with the SAME publisher, and ultimately the publisher can force the game out before it's ready. Why WB/Avalanche aren't showing off the PC version after the previous two screwups by WB is beyond perplexing. Most companies when something bad happens... let alone TWO.. and the most recent one caused them to pull the game from the store, and it STILL is gone from the Steam store, generally bends over backwards to show the quality of their next product. Not WB. The question you have to ask is WHY? Honest idiotic mistake? Or something to hide? We need actual PC footage and analysis.
During the Twitch stream a few days ago, the devs made a point to say that the PC version of Mad Max is being done 100% in house, no outsourcing whatsoever. It's not a guarantee of quality, but it certainly means it should be a lot better off than the Arkham Knight port.
