Liking the new cover way more. Liking the new hero less, somehow annoying face, less charismatic.

Digital baby, who gives a **** about cover art, I'll never see it.

I don't know which is old or new, but the second/bottom one with the teleporting/worm tunnel effect seems to portray what the game is about more than the first/top one being your average dudebro action hero stance and nothing at all about the game.

Based on that, I'm assuming the good one is the old one and the generic one is the new one. Hopefully I'm wrong and the second one is the new one. I don't care enough to research it though, since I don't own an Xbone.

He looks more like a Hollywood actor which is what Remedy is aiming for.

I think the new look is fine and people will get use to him.

He IS a Hollywood actor! Microsoft wants this game to succeed so bad they are just dumping money into it. Surely you noticed a few other big celebrities at Gamescom...

Fin_The_Human1626d ago (Edited 1626d ago )

Yeah I did notice little finger and the black guy from the wire.

I am glad MS is pumping money into this game and hope it pays off for remedy...those guys are awesome and deserve the sales.

Crueltylizer1626d ago

He looks alot more like his real life counterpart Shawn Ashmore in the new cover.

I like it.

solidsnake2221626d ago

I think I like the original art better. I'm liking the blue background over the white.

Neither of them are are a good showcase for time-manipulation. Remedy can do better than this.

njulo1626d ago

Agree old was more attractive even the original trailer and game demo. IT Looks like a generic game now.

Grap1626d ago (Edited 1626d ago )

The cover looks real good better than original.

CBforeva1626d ago

Actually I like both, maybe the first a little bit more... I'm really looking forward for the next Remedy masterpiece. (But please, after QB, make another Alan Wake!)

rakentaja1626d ago (Edited 1626d ago )

Cover will not make the game worse but I'm a bit worried about how much the game uses special effects (time powers)..I think there's too much of it...:/. Barely a steady picture will eventually become annoying.

poppinslops1626d ago

The demos we've seen are almost-certainly running with 'cheats' enabled - in this case, the cooldowns on Jack's abilities, god-mode and possibly unlimited ammo (difficult to tell with the HUD switched off)... it's common-practice for gameplay demos at E3/Gamescom type events.

Devs figure that if the player doesn't die, they can show more of the game... and if said player has unlimited 'time-juice'?

All the better.

That said, Remedy's other games have been tough... Quantum Break's combat will likely require a more measured, tactical approach than what we've seen from the playtesters.

Fin_The_Human1626d ago

You have not played Alan Wake or Max Payne have you.

Remedy will make it work.

I'm not really a fan using real actors likenesses in games. I prefer when they create new people. Also, if this series lasts 20 years, will they have to try and pay these people to star in their subsequent games.

How much of the cost is going into hiring big name faces too. Of all the most memorable game characters in the past 10 years, none of them have been real actors.

poppinslops1626d ago (Edited 1626d ago )

There have been heaps of great performances from actors in videogames... Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe in Beyond: Two Souls, Sam Witwer in Star Wars: the Force Unleashed, Krysten Bell in Assassin's Creed and the entire cast of LA Noire all gave great performances.

Quantum Break has a live-action show, so it makes sense for Remedy to use seasoned actors... it would have been rather difficult to find unknowns with experience in mo-cap, television and green-screen performance.

skratchy1626d ago

Wow. Way to pick nothing but more bad examples.

I think Microsoft needs to let Remedy do their own thing, instead of giving them more money to just sling around.
