Loneliness is a powerful thing. It can weigh you down, crush your soul, but most of all, it can steal a piece of you leaving an indescribable feeling of emptiness. Video games often toy with a player’s sense of isolation, especially in horror games. It’s an effective way to get the player’s blood pumping and instill an overwhelming sense of dread in the setting and in the player. Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture uses loneliness in a different way.
