Team VVV writes: "We cruise around in our Ferrari 458 Speciale and have a look at The Crew's updated graphics at the Gamescom show floor. Although still in development, the difference in graphics is impressive.

The wet weather effects look decent and the wet roads offer a fresh challenge for veterans of The Crew. You may notice that draw distances have also been increased which is apparent in this gameplay video (just look at the detail on the distant mountains for example)."

Massive improvement , here is hoping the handling much better. I like the idea that games can be updated continuously throughout its cycle. More devs should keep making their games better and extend the life of them.

Good examples of this are Drive Club, Smash Bros Wii U/3DS, Splatoon, GTA IV and V, etc.

Some games could still have good online numbers but the developers drop support immediately for a sequel.

Google some driving settings. I did that and set it to what someone recommended. I liked it more than the default handling.

I told the developers the handling was bad on Twitter, they replied with no it's not. So I doubt it's improved.

Still see all the buildings & trees etc has plenty of aliasing. Jaggies everywhere like the original. The buildings are actually moving with the aliasing...

I never did buy it but i'll think more on it when the patch is released to see what else has been improved if anything.

I wonder how much more graphics improvement they will get out of the Xbox One and PS4 there is no way it will look that good on them consoles I was wondering if that was the PC version he was playing.

The Crew needed a face lift. Especially with EA's NFS about to become a major competitor. Ubisoft are doing the right thing...for once /

Bad AA was the main problem with the original, not the graphics per-se or art-style, but all those stairs, they MUST fix that or it will feel pointless improvements if the IQ is still crap.

Yep, looking good. Hope there's also a Harley-type cruiser included w/ the nu bikes, would b perfect for cruising that huge (graphically improved) map. Open road 'Murica needs a Harley! ;)

Looks incredible. I wish they would add full day to night cycle. Im not sure if they changed that since the last time I played, but I remember it only went from morning to early evening, but we never saw true nighttime driving. Its been a long time since Ive played, so if Im wrong about this, please enlighten me.

Other than that, the game looks incredible. I cant believe they went back and pushed the visuals and effects to this level. Especially with the size of the game world. If they start adding new cities and continue adding race modes, its going to be hard for any other racing game to beat it. Its like Toca within the confines of the US border. God bless these guys for continuing support and improvement on a game that released so long ago, instead of releasing a sequel with these improvements.

It does have a full night-time driving cycle, always did as far as I know. When you open your map, the time of day id displayed at the top.

It doesn't look that good at night. I'm hoping that changes with this update.

Good. I played the alpha and beta and a full day/ night cycle wasnt part of the package. I just bought the full game a few weeks ago when it was on sale and love night racing. As you said, hopefully it was given some love like the rest of the game. Im in awe of the developers tenacity in bringing new life to an older title like this. The work it must've took to go in and rework the entire graphics engine had to have been immense. The fact they are giving it away for free shows their continued effort to bring the best racing experience across multiple diciplines. Like Toca, before it, it should be a great all around game that is now visually... stepping into the new generation.

Im buying the expansion as a thank you for the graphics upgrade. I wish more developers did this to their titles, EA Tiburon... Im looking at you and Madden, instead of charging for a brand new game. It shows a dedication to bringing the best game and experience possible to gamers, instead of milking them dry with incremental upgrades that add little to the visuals and gameplay.

Wtf that looks amazing compared to last year! What is this upgrade exactly? Is it only for PC? I haven't even heard about this until now.

This is such a cool concept I can't believe other games haven't done this. Releasing an update to improve graphics.

PS4, XB1 and PC is getting this free graphics update! including new improvements like more stable controls,
engine sounds has been reworked to be more precise and present, not just the new vehicles, but also the ones that's already in it. The UI display is now more clearer
to look at now! speedometer, timer,etc. Aerodynamics for all vehicles are being enhanced as well and tire models are being tuned to combine with the improved driving.
Finally, the chase follow cam that was patched back in march is back! all this information came from the crew official website.

Edit: Also confirmed, this update will not be coming to Xbox360!
