Serena Nelson writes: "So, what exactly is Retronator Pixel Art Academy about then? Aside from learning to draw retro graphics that is. Well, obviously that's the main focus. But, like so many edutainment games there's an angle to keep people wanting to continue to learn. In this case it's a Sims-like pixel world where you actually take classes learning said techniques. If there's one thing that I'm a bit wary about it's the use of existing sprites as examples.

The past few months have been absolutely wild in the world of crowdfunding thanks to no shortage of massive campaigns. For the first time in a long while it seems that this month was mostly free of any outrageous projects (no Shenmue 3 or Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night here!). For some, this may be a bit of a disappointment as it takes out some of the mainstream attention, but others may prefer these calmer months. Whatever the case, even free of these sorts of campaigns, we still saw a great batch of games make their way through during August."
