Just the same footage from E3.Nothing new here.Looks absolutely stunning.

the_dark_one1174d ago

indeed it does, but......... remember its ubisoft here, im really hoping for not another Watch Dogs situation in this game(or in The Division for that matter). or if you remember that e3 demo for ghost recon future soldier and the end product wasnt like what they show.

lets just hope that they learned this time around

starchild1174d ago

I'm not convinced The Division was downgraded until I see a better comparison. Not these apples to oranges comparisons I've seen recently.

But, either way, out of all the dozens or hundreds of games Ubisoft has released, the vast majority of them were never downgraded. Ubisoft has always released some of the best looking games of their respective time periods. Everything from artistically beautiful games like Prince of Persia The Sands of Time to technical showcases like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, as well as some of the best looking open world games in series like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry.

The point is, the odds are that most upcoming Ubisoft games will not be downgraded. And even if any do end up with downgrades they will probably still end up being some of the best looking games of their genre.

@Starchild you understand it. Finally somebody does here. With you i can talk my friend

RedDeadLB1174d ago

@starchild - go watch the E3 reveal footage/final version comparison of Far Cry 3 on Youtube and tell me the game wasn't downgraded.

I agree, their games are some of the best looking, but the problem is they were even more beautiful in earlier stages of development.

The fact that they decided to be completely upfront with their future reveals (such as Ghost Recon Wildlands, which looks amazing, although the character animations look slightly wonky) and the hardware they display it on speaks for itself.

"hoping for not another Watch Dogs situation"

They already stated they are only showing gameplay from actual devices and not target renders.

They didn't have next gen hardware when they where showing Watch Dogs.

Its not as if Ubisoft just did that every game...

I agree with Starchild on this one.

That is like saying MS always fires teams after announcing games because it happened with 1 team with Phantom Dust for XONE.

I mean...we sure it always happens? We sure it didn't just happen a few times?

HammadTheBeast1173d ago

I mean, they tried to make The Crew just as ambitious as this, and it was pretty disappointing.

_-EDMIX-_1173d ago

@Hammad- Who is "they"? The team that did this game has nothing to do with The Crew....

starchild1173d ago

I completely agree that Far Cry 3 experienced a downgrade. There's actual evidence of that. Same for Watch Dogs.

But you know what? Far Cry 3 was still one of the best looking games I played on my PC around that time.

Sure, it's a little disappointing when they can't achieve what they originally were aiming for, but there are reasons for that. It's not like devs CHOOSE to downgrade their games just for the hell of it.

The way around that kind of disappointment is to not show games off until later in development. The downside to that for us gamers is that we don't get to see footage of the games we are excited about until much later. Whether that is a good or bad thing on balance is a matter of opinion. Personally, I'm fine with either approach. I understand that a lot of things can change in the course of developing a game.

In the end, I would rather developers aim high, even if it turns out their ambitions can't be fully realized, than for developers to aim low from the beginning and achieve every bit of the mediocrity they were targeting.

UKmilitia1173d ago

damn right @starchild
for years its been called optimaizing and now its DOWNGRADED.

there games when released are always visually impresive and should be enjoyed.

XBLSkull1173d ago

Yeah pretty lame, game looks great but only about a half a second of NEW footage. Came into here excited to see new stuff and left with only disappointment lol.

Lamboomington1173d ago

As for The Division, you cannot compare PC version from 2013 to the 2015 PS4 demo and say they downgraded it. You can't blame them for anything. They're just getting it to run on the PS4. I'm happy they actually showed the console version, that's them being honest.

Remember they aren't a first party exclusive developer, so they aren't going to get the same results as say, Horizon or something (because that's open world too. Still an iffy comparison, but you get the point)

'Downgrade' is something that doesn't really apply to consoles. The term makes sense on the PC version though, because there you have a range of hardware to scale things up. So generally the argument is "Why not give us the options to scale these features up so we can choose?". That's the only context in which it makes sense.

Even then the word 'downgrade' is thrown around way too much, often without any satisfactory evidence.

yeah, Ubisoft makes really good looking games in general. And yes, the whole WatchDogs and Division issue is because they showed footage BEFORE consoles really came out. When consoles did come out, they had to tone down the visuals. Same happened with the Witcher 3. CDPR's next game will not have the same issue I guarantee you, since now they know what they are developing for.

I don't think that's going to happen in the future. Did you see For Honour ? It was shown for the first time running on a PS4 !

Haha wow people are still claiming Ubisoft downt downgrade lol.

We've already seen since the whole "we won't do it again, we promise" that both The Divison & R6: Siege. Both have had massive downgrades. That's night & day fact, you can't just ignore that. Absolutely no doubt in my mind Wildlands will be the same. Why wouldn't it? Ubisoft have no intention of changing as there's still stupid people out there that claim there's no difference. It's embarrassing really.

Looks stunning i agree, but lets hope they keep it this way.
its ubisoft after all

LackTrue4K1173d ago (Edited 1173d ago )

i love how this game is giving me that old "Ghost Recon" game play from the ps2/Xbox.

More about gun-play/stealth, and not tech.

i know this game has tech too, but its showed less in this game.
In a way, like SOCOM on the ps2/ps3.

Mir91221174d ago

Will you look at that, more bullshots. Just like The Division, showing all this great footage too only later be downgraded.

NobleRed1174d ago (Edited 1174d ago )

Well said bro. Ubisoft can never be trusted.

mEGUSTO1174d ago

when i saw the salt flats i said "wow thats pretty!" then i realised oh ... fat chance itll look like this at release :(

Revolt131174d ago

Nooooo, the inevitable downgrades hurt my heart :(

DoctorFry1173d ago

Ubisoft, stop showing us your unrealistically good prerelease graphics. A downgrade from you morons is inevitable. It's 2015, you ain't fooling no one... we've all seen Watch Dogs.

fallacious1174d ago

Just wait for downgrades like what ubisoft did with watch dogs and division.

TRU3_GAM3R1174d ago (Edited 1174d ago )

looks great.

Revolt131174d ago

Looks great, IF it can keep to this original vision
