Ubisoft has released new details and gameplay footage for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
Just the same footage from E3.Nothing new here.Looks absolutely stunning.
indeed it does, but......... remember its ubisoft here, im really hoping for not another Watch Dogs situation in this game(or in The Division for that matter). or if you remember that e3 demo for ghost recon future soldier and the end product wasnt like what they show. https://www.youtube.com/wat... lets just hope that they learned this time around
I'm not convinced The Division was downgraded until I see a better comparison. Not these apples to oranges comparisons I've seen recently. But, either way, out of all the dozens or hundreds of games Ubisoft has released, the vast majority of them were never downgraded. Ubisoft has always released some of the best looking games of their respective time periods. Everything from artistically beautiful games like Prince of Persia The Sands of Time to technical showcases like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, as well as some of the best looking open world games in series like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. The point is, the odds are that most upcoming Ubisoft games will not be downgraded. And even if any do end up with downgrades they will probably still end up being some of the best looking games of their genre.
@Starchild you understand it. Finally somebody does here. With you i can talk my friend
@starchild - go watch the E3 reveal footage/final version comparison of Far Cry 3 on Youtube and tell me the game wasn't downgraded. I agree, their games are some of the best looking, but the problem is they were even more beautiful in earlier stages of development. The fact that they decided to be completely upfront with their future reveals (such as Ghost Recon Wildlands, which looks amazing, although the character animations look slightly wonky) and the hardware they display it on speaks for itself.
"hoping for not another Watch Dogs situation" https://www.vg247.com/2015/... They already stated they are only showing gameplay from actual devices and not target renders. They didn't have next gen hardware when they where showing Watch Dogs. Its not as if Ubisoft just did that every game... I agree with Starchild on this one. That is like saying MS always fires teams after announcing games because it happened with 1 team with Phantom Dust for XONE. I mean...we sure it always happens? We sure it didn't just happen a few times?
I mean, they tried to make The Crew just as ambitious as this, and it was pretty disappointing.
@Hammad- Who is "they"? The team that did this game has nothing to do with The Crew....
@RedDeadLB I completely agree that Far Cry 3 experienced a downgrade. There's actual evidence of that. Same for Watch Dogs. But you know what? Far Cry 3 was still one of the best looking games I played on my PC around that time. Sure, it's a little disappointing when they can't achieve what they originally were aiming for, but there are reasons for that. It's not like devs CHOOSE to downgrade their games just for the hell of it. The way around that kind of disappointment is to not show games off until later in development. The downside to that for us gamers is that we don't get to see footage of the games we are excited about until much later. Whether that is a good or bad thing on balance is a matter of opinion. Personally, I'm fine with either approach. I understand that a lot of things can change in the course of developing a game. In the end, I would rather developers aim high, even if it turns out their ambitions can't be fully realized, than for developers to aim low from the beginning and achieve every bit of the mediocrity they were targeting.
damn right @starchild for years its been called optimaizing and now its DOWNGRADED. there games when released are always visually impresive and should be enjoyed.
Yeah pretty lame, game looks great but only about a half a second of NEW footage. Came into here excited to see new stuff and left with only disappointment lol.
As for The Division, you cannot compare PC version from 2013 to the 2015 PS4 demo and say they downgraded it. You can't blame them for anything. They're just getting it to run on the PS4. I'm happy they actually showed the console version, that's them being honest. Remember they aren't a first party exclusive developer, so they aren't going to get the same results as say, Horizon or something (because that's open world too. Still an iffy comparison, but you get the point) 'Downgrade' is something that doesn't really apply to consoles. The term makes sense on the PC version though, because there you have a range of hardware to scale things up. So generally the argument is "Why not give us the options to scale these features up so we can choose?". That's the only context in which it makes sense. Even then the word 'downgrade' is thrown around way too much, often without any satisfactory evidence. @starchild yeah, Ubisoft makes really good looking games in general. And yes, the whole WatchDogs and Division issue is because they showed footage BEFORE consoles really came out. When consoles did come out, they had to tone down the visuals. Same happened with the Witcher 3. CDPR's next game will not have the same issue I guarantee you, since now they know what they are developing for. I don't think that's going to happen in the future. Did you see For Honour ? It was shown for the first time running on a PS4 !
Haha wow people are still claiming Ubisoft downt downgrade lol. We've already seen since the whole "we won't do it again, we promise" that both The Divison & R6: Siege. Both have had massive downgrades. That's night & day fact, you can't just ignore that. Absolutely no doubt in my mind Wildlands will be the same. Why wouldn't it? Ubisoft have no intention of changing as there's still stupid people out there that claim there's no difference. It's embarrassing really.
Looks stunning i agree, but lets hope they keep it this way. its ubisoft after all
i love how this game is giving me that old "Ghost Recon" game play from the ps2/Xbox. More about gun-play/stealth, and not tech. i know this game has tech too, but its showed less in this game. In a way, like SOCOM on the ps2/ps3.
Will you look at that, more bullshots. Just like The Division, showing all this great footage too only later be downgraded.
Well said bro. Ubisoft can never be trusted.
when i saw the salt flats i said "wow thats pretty!" then i realised oh ... fat chance itll look like this at release :(
Nooooo, the inevitable downgrades hurt my heart :(
Ubisoft, stop showing us your unrealistically good prerelease graphics. A downgrade from you morons is inevitable. It's 2015, you ain't fooling no one... we've all seen Watch Dogs.
Just wait for downgrades like what ubisoft did with watch dogs and division.
Looks great, IF it can keep to this original vision
You bunch of cry baby's. If you dont have faith anymore then dont bash it for the ppl who do like ubi and there games. I keep faith in these games.
Its not that people dislike the games Its the downgrades.
Most ppl just dont understand it. Ubi shows off everything on high end pc's and we all know they are stronger then consoles. So its not a downgrade its just tuned for consoles to get what they want to do with there games to play them
PC versions never reached the demo visuals jv haha This is only for a few games though, I still trust that these new games will look damn good
So, this is essentially an outdoorsy The Division? Haha, probably made just incase The Division flops, this will be their backup game. God, Ubisoft is so pretentious. These accolades mean nothing if no one's actually played the final game yet! They did the same thing with Watch Dogs and we all know that story...
it looks amazing at this current point, sadly who knows how much of it is going to be downgraded when released. So in the end Ubisoft NO HYPE FOR YOU!!
Looks great regardless of what visual downgrades we'll get. I've always enjoyed Ghost Recon, and this one looks even better than the previous entries... Rainbow Six on the other hand...hopefully they learned from their god awful mistake(RSV2)
It does look very good, so I'll be following this one. But they have said it's looking like GR Wildlands will not even be in 2016. So if we're talking nearly 2 years from this E3...eh. I'm not sure how much benefit there is to market games that early. Plus there can always be further delays for all sorts of reasons (like The Division had). Is the thought just that the sooner the better for creating hype? To me when anything is marketed too early, movie or game, my tendency is to ignore it. Customers aren't going to pre-order 2 years in advance. Plus it's just setting the game up for disappointment if it isn't incredible. Bethesda did it right with Fallout 4 by waiting until this E3 which built immense hype at the right time.
I always thought that company shareholders get antsy if there's no tangible hype buildup asap and make the developers show off some early tech demos to appease these shareholders.
Always been a fan. I used to play on OG Xbox. I go back more than 10 years with this game.
Thinking of what the last Ghost looked like on 360/PS3, I don't see why this is such a stretch for most of you.
I just hope the open world for ghost recon works good. fingers crossed!
Can people stop with the bitching? Ubisoft is getting hammered and more hate than it deserves yet no one talks sh*t about cd project red's huge noticeable downgrade! bunch of crybabies and idiots for purchasing blindly. Anyway, the game looks gorgeous, kind of like a mix between mgs and just cause but The Division is no doubt the one I'm looking forward to the most of the 3 Tom Clancy games.
This is definitely the better of the three upcoming TC games. I just wish they didn't do away with the tactical squad based combat. Its like games are becoming more and more simple and shallow. Open world, pretty graphics & multiplayer at the expense of immersive game play mechanics. Though will have to wait and see what they plan to do for those looking for a single player experience.
Game looks fun as hell!! Good graphics or not, I'm playing this game!
this game will rock
I really disliked Advanced Warfighter, but simply because it was too sci fi. I hated all the lines and dots scattered across the screen and Im not big on the futuristic theme anyway. However this looks right down my street - looks absolutely brilliant!
Know exactly what you mean, this looks more like the way that it should be, if you know what I mean.
Looks good. Though i'd rather the series had gone with a more GRAW-ish route than this over-the-top-action one.
it looks amazing.
glad to know there is single-player as well as co-op.
I was ready for an all new Ghost Recon, but this kinda took me by surprise. IF the game is what I imagine it to be and not some BS, then this could be a winner. With Ubi you always gotta keep your guard up!
youtube channel called 1080players...highest quality in 720p -__-
Want this game now ,not next year . Damn you Ubisoft u could have released this game first instead of AC Syndicate. No one would have missed AC for one year .
these are all looking the same.
Huge downgrade incoming
This game, to me, was the biggest surprise in the last E3. It came out of nowhere and looks like a genuinely fun and unique take on the open-world genre. It was definitely the most appealing game Ubisoft had on display(although that's a low bar). I'm cautiously optimistic about it. Of course, Fallout 4 will destroy it, like it will destroy everything else, but hey, we'll see.
Wildlands looks so badass! I'm hoping for a Mercenaries with a triple A budget! #ps2nostalgia x)
