Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U classic and only £18.72 or £21.99 for Special Edition

Dealspwn: Bayonetta 2 is taking a while to come down, but this £18.72 deal is the lowest I've seen it in a while as the game makes a rare sub-£20 appearance. Better yet, why not pick up the Special Edition (including the first game) for a few quid more at £21.99.

Bayonetta 2 is considered to be the best melee action title in years, probably the best since well, the first Bayonetta. So if you're a new Wii U owner, this should probably be your first stop. Sure the story's pants and Bayonetta looks way too much like Sarah Palin, but the combotastic gameplay is amongst the best the genre's seen.

I hope this title climbs its way up to a million copies sold. Can't blame all Wii U owners, though the majority of them let this amazing title (packaged with Bayonetta 1 no less) bomb. I understand Wonderful 101's bad sales (because I tried the demo, and it isn't noobie friendly. I eventually got the hang of the controls).

It's not hard to imagine why Nintendo's so iffy developing a Metroid title on the Wii U.

Hoffmann1204d ago

The Bayonetta fans are not usually Nintendo fans I think. Its an old tale now but its still dumb that this game was not released for the other consoles and PC. The Nintendo Wii U owners just buy almost nothing but Nintendo games.

nowitzki20041204d ago

Huge Bayonetta fan... I was extremely disappointed when I heard it will be a WiiU exclusive because I have no intentions of getting a WiiU, and its going to the console with the wrong crowd.

I know VGChartz is not that accurate but they have 0.75 mil sold globally... This game probably couldve been up in at the 5 mil mark had it been on all consoles. Could have been on last gen too considering its on the WiiU. Too bad.

Hoffmann1204d ago

Why in the hell N4G can I not reply to someone who just replied to my comment? Where is the sense behind that.

@nowitzki2004 same here. As much as I would like to play Bayonetta 2, I am not interested in the Wii U in general and don't buy a system for only a couple of games. Seems Platinum did just not have the money to develope bayonetta 2 without Nintendo. Its dumb that nobody else funded it but also that they did not try kickstarter etc.

MrBrofist1203d ago

Blame Sony and Micosoft for they turned the game down. If it weren't for Nintendo the game would have been scraped.
I own a Wii U and buy games that interest me. Doesn't matter if its 3rd party or first party

Bayonetta just isn't for me.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory1204d ago

blame them?

Shoudn't the crying Bayonetta fans who were complaining about it's exclusivity be blamed.

"Oh I am fan but I am not buying a wii u"

There was a demo.
Base of Miiverse users there were a lot of people who hate Bayonetta. Even people on facebook and twitter get mad at people for voting Bayonetta for Smash.

Hoffmann1204d ago

If you have the money to buy every system its great for you, but there are many of us that have to save some months before they can buy one console and stick to it and games for it for a couple of years.

superchiller1204d ago (Edited 1204d ago )

Most people aren't going to buy a Wii U just for a handful of games, and as Hoffmann and nowitzki2004 pointed out, Bayonetta is just not the kind of game that Nintendo fans want. It's a shame that Bayonetta 2 won't have a chance at wider exposure in the gaming community, on more popular game systems; but the fault for that rests with Nintendo and Platinum.

I'd buy this game on the PS4 at release, loved the first one, but I wouldn't buy a Wii U just for a few games like this one.

I luv Bayonetta 2 softcore porn mixed with an amazing battle mechanic!! Plus is it me but I thought the graphic's were fantastic. It's funny that it didn't sell well because it's an amazing experience and packed with the original Bayonetta? How can you say no to that??????

HarryMasonHerpderp1204d ago

Great gameplay but honestly thought the graphics were very average. Lots of bad textures and jaggies. Also frame rate seems to drop in certain location e.g the main harbour place when you first get to explore a little.

bouzebbal1204d ago

doesn't make the game bad and justifies in no way its poor sales.
I am not a fan of the first one but i do recognize its quality.

HarryMasonHerpderp1203d ago

I never said it made the game bad or that justifies its poor sales. I just said I didn't think the graphics were all that great that's all. You don't need to go into defense mode, I like the game.

chrisx1204d ago

It didn't sell well because it was exclusive to wiiu. Imagine if it had released on ps4 and even xbox. Its a pity that no1 but nintendo were interested in the sequel cus its a great game no doubt

Bayo 1 was both on PS3 and 360 and it sold aprox. 2 million units:

In a span of 5 years, you can't say that it's impressive, given the quality of the title.

tablecloth1204d ago

The one reason I ( perhaps most people ) didn't buy the PS3 version is because the perfomance was cut in half compared to 360. Quality wise it was also degraded.

Although I didn't follow it when it launched it might be a big factor to the sales. Atleast it was a huge lesson learned for Platinum Games, other games since then don't have that much of a gap.

pcz1203d ago

thanks a lot, got myself a copy. great value.

now i have 2 games for wiiu, this and mario kart. i still dont have a wiiu though lol

marloc_x1203d ago (Edited 1203d ago )

Ha! That's ok though, I am quite sure NX will be backwards compatible, ( if it is a console ;)
