The Structure Network: The Tales From the Borderlands series has been a pretty huge hit thanks in part to the amazing pedigree that developers Tell Tale Games have created for themselves. I guess it doesn’t hurt that they created a new video game based off an extremely popular IP. The only question that was left was ‘how could a game series that is not particularly known for its engaging story be adapted to become one?’ Apparently it comes natural to the developer as Tales from The Borderlands is my second favorite title in massive web of licenses that Tell Tale has acquired. The third episode out of five has just been released and fans have nothing to worry about.
Tales from the Borderlands – Episode Three: Catch a Ride builds upon the set-up from the previous episodes and delivers a more intense atmosphere and deeper story development. Players who dislike quick-time events may get frustrated at times, but the majority give plenty of reaction time and serve to both hold attention and up the action.
Full steam ahead as we plow through Tales From the Borderlands fantastic third episode like an out-of-control Runner smashing through a nest of skrags on the dusty planet of Pandora. Book-ended by two heart-racing action sequences, Catch A Ride doesn’t only keep the pace very much flowing for 2K games spin-off adventure, but also proves that this series could potentially be one of the greatest that Telltale Games have made to date. Spoilers will be kept to a minimum, but you can get a quick recap of the adventure by looking back at our reviews of episode one and episode two.
Jordan says, "Telltale Games is as infamous for their storytelling prowess as they are for their eclectic range of popular licenses that they draw from—and ever since the debut episode of Tales From the Borderlands hit, there has been just as much praise for its humor and writing—adding yet more prestige to Telltale’s sterling reputation."
